Calendar Correction
Mon, 08/03/2009 - 15:36 — rpweber
I made a mistake on the week 8 calendar and repeated a reading. Instead of reading chapter 6 again, please read chapters 36, 37, and 38 in TH. I apologize for the mistake.

Project Three Deadlines
Mon, 08/03/2009 - 15:33 — rpweber
I have two adjustments to the project three deadlines. First, I have to move up the deadline for Project Three: Step Six - Collaborative Project Evaluation Form from Monday, August 10 to Sunday, August 9 at midnight. I do not like moving up deadlines, but grades are due at noon on August 10, so I need all the forms before that date. The form is attached to this blog post and the project three page. To make up for the shorter Step Six deadline, I am moving the white paper deadline until midnight on Saturday, August 8.

Project Three: Step One Deadline Extended!
Fri, 07/24/2009 - 07:13 — rpweber
I have decided to extend the deadline for Project Three: Step One to Monday, July 27 at midnight. I realized that some of the groups need more time to formulate their project, and I'd rather get good proposals at the start which will lead to better projects down the line. Also, I'm going to have to be away from the computer tonight and tomorrow, so I wanted to be available to answer questions on Sunday and Monday before the project was due. Of course, your groups are free to post your proposals anytime between now and Monday. The Gantt chart is still on Monday along with the proposal.

Great Work!
Wed, 07/01/2009 - 14:57 — rpweber
I am very pleased with the work being done in the course so far. Many of the reading responses I've seen include specific references and interesting insights on the readings. The discussion among students has also been constructive, especially the informal peer review that many students did on their own initiative last Friday. I'm also impressed with how many people are titling their blogs and files according to the directions (this seems small, but it is often an uphill battle with students.) You're doing great work - keep it up! I'm very impressed.

Choosing a Software for the Instructions Project
Thu, 06/18/2009 - 19:53 — rpweber
As you're thinking about starting project one, I anticipate some questions about which software students should use for design. I'm fine with any software choice students make, and I am not requiring or banning any softwares. As a design tool, I recommend Adobe In Design, which is on all school computers. It is fairly sophisticated, though not especially easy to use. Of course, some of you may not have access to in-design, which is understandable.
