The Course is now closed, but look out for your grades to be posted shortly...

Dear Techies,
Thank you for the kind words, and I wish you ALL the very best in the near to distant future. If any of you would like to use me as a reference--by all means, let me know. Be well.
Cheers,
prof. t
p.s. I did not receive a peer evaluation form from everyone, but at this point it is late and I will not accept it. Also, make sure that you each have a project assessment document to submit. If you have not by now, then once again--it is late and I will not accept it.

Thu, 08/06/2009 - 22:59 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
Please have the following ready to go:
--Final project uploaded to a posting (labeled accordingly)
--Peer Evaluation (sent via e-mail to Instructor)
--Project Assessment (attached as a post)
Please label ALL submissions accordingly and with clear tag names (subject headings). I will be providing final team feedback over the weekend (if not sooner) and will be working on individual grades so that I can post them as soon as possible (please do NOT ask me your specific grade as I will be calculating this and submitting it to myPurdue).

Dear Techies,
Mon, 08/03/2009 - 19:35 — ftobienn
Please offer each other relevant feedback re: client-based project submission via scribd.com.
Also, if you have not already done so, please review the project assessment document and peer evaluation document. They are due this Friday, 7 August 2009 along with distribution to your client of a final project.
When submitting final project (even if you only have minimal changes to make from its initial draft submission) please label it accordingly as Final Submission; or, you can update your draft #1 submission as a final submission, but with the emmended label.

Again, please meet ALL assigned deadlines...
Mon, 08/03/2009 - 09:34 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
Some of you have already intimated that you would like to post your assignments earlier than the scheduled time stamp. This is okay with me, but you must label ALL of your work correctly.
This is the finish line folks, and a culmination of your Summer semester hard work! Be well!
Cheers,
prof. t
p.s. avoid any and all grammar issues, spellings and other egregious mistakes that can otherwise take away from a strong finale.

Nice start (for the most part) re: client-based project drafts
Sun, 08/02/2009 - 09:25 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
Might I make a simple suggestion: take ownership over your projects. That is, please incorporate team name, team members and a brief intro into why your project exists (and is hoping to accomplish).
After spending so much time and research and effort to make what otherwise seems like a simple brochure, or site update, or whatever the least you can ALL do is put your very own seal on the matter.

A Reminder: Label ALL Postings Accordingly
Fri, 07/31/2009 - 08:34 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
As you submit your first draft of your client-based project(s), please label the post accordingly:
Team Name: Client-based Project Draft #1
or, something comparable to the afore stated. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Be well, and enjoy the weekend!
Cheers,
prof. t

Finish Strong Folks!
Wed, 07/29/2009 - 15:33 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
As you near completion of the course and make final adjustments to the client-based project in and on time, please offer comments to your peers.
You may in fact expose some weaknesses and reaffirm some strengths. Looking from the outside--in, you may in fact cater to their demographic.
Also, spread the wealth in terms of offering feedback. There are still some projects, research posts in need of good peer feedback.

A reminder via a student's astute observation...
Tue, 07/28/2009 - 17:18 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
Be advised that your responsibility for peer feedback is welcomed, and some of you have done this ad nauseum. If you recall, in the course description I said:
You are required to submit five (5) comments and replies (e.g., follow-up responses) each week to the blog posts (reading and other responses posted by others) appearing on our course's front page. Your comments and replies should be spaced out over at least three days. Each should be, at minimum, 100 words each.

Warning!!!
Mon, 07/27/2009 - 23:36 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
I have responded and approved your client-based research proposals for the most part; however, I have asked that some teams improve on their proposals in specific ways before sending it off to their respective clients.
Please read through my approval statements accordingly, and if you need clarification--do not hesitate to ask. Do NOT proceed with the assumption that you can proceed without reading through my comments.
In some cases, your team can move full steam ahead, and in other cases-you need to clarify, specify and target your clientele accordingly.

Be client-specific: 2-page proposal
Mon, 07/27/2009 - 10:14 — ftobienn
Dear Techies,
Please follow the directives to the letter involving the client--based project. This should obviously be in correct form, content and reflect the deliverables accordingly. Again, examine your work prior to its submission.
Also, please label your team submissions with team name and the phrase client-based proposal, or just plain proposal. You have a time stamp and due date on this. Do not be late here.
