Big Project Log: The Final Product

Here is the link to my completed big project: http://www.digitalparlor.org/test/cookam/ The peer review on Thursday was extremely helpful. I had downloaded several modules and enabled them, but forgot to give myself permission to use them. Doing so made things a lot easier. Thanks Cat! Adam then showed me a thing or two about taxonomy. That allowed me to get the two sections of the website that had been empty up and running. Thanks Adam! Finally, I figured out how to align my pictures so that the text wraps around them. Thanks Dave!

Big Project Week 4: Ultimate

At long last, the damage has been mitigated, nullified, and built over. Averagenaut.com stands! Behold!

The entire setup is now tweaked just to my liking and specifications. While I still consider this a beta stage [at least until it's been running for a few months and I get feedback from users], it is what I would consider a release candidate.

The latest version of my book cover as well as the requisite files can be found at my drop site [ http://drop.io/cccharle ]. Any questions about this content should be directed to me via the e-mail address attached to this account.

Small project for peer review

Hello everyone, attached is an updated PDF from what I shared with you all in class for my small project. I added several screenshots and created a diagram to represent the flow of content, as well as finishing up the rest of the main content. Once it is finalized for the purposes of this class, I will write a brief executive summary to share with my boss, my coworkers, and our IT department so the Libraries can begin to participate more actively in social media outlets.

I'm particularly looking for feedback in the following areas:

Introductions | English 680s: Digital Rhetoric and Design Studio

Welcome to English 680S!

So that we can get to know each other a little better, please post a reply to this message in which you

  • describe where you are from
  • give your course of study and year in the graduate program
  • talk about your areas of specialization and career goals
  • tell what you would like to get out of this course
  • share at least one thing personal about yourself (a hobby, your favorite sport, a favorite activity, etc.)

I'll start. I've lived in West Lafayette since 2000, when I first came to Purdue. I was promoted to full professor in 2006. My areas of specialization include professional writing, rhetorical theory, digital media, print publishing, and film. In 2002 I founded Parlor Press, an independent scholarly publisher. I'm also involved with Purdue's Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy, a program of the Burton Morgan Center in Discovery Park.

My favorite sports are golf and baseball, but I spend most of my free time playing with new gadgets, including my twins.
