Week 7....The Final Frontier

Well, this is the last week for this class and a very important week. On Monday, July the 20th, at 12:00 pm, Group 2 met online to put the rough draft of the white paper together. Also, the summary was written together. Everybody wrote their parts as expected. The next step was peer review, which is a great idea. We gained some valuable insight from Group 1 which I think made our paper much better. On Thursday, July the 24th, an email was sent out to our group to include the sources we used in our paper, and to edit the paper due to the feedback by Group 1.

Week 7 Project Log

During week 7, we spent time editing and proofreading our paper. We started passing the paper around making editing changes, but Google Docs seemed to be a much easier way to use things because it's always the latest copy. We had good peer reviews so we used all of those to help shape our paper and make it a better draft. I found a graph that was good for our group to use because our paper was "text heavy." Also, we added our sources into the document because we left that out on the rough draft.

Project Log - Week 7

Our white paper is now completed and submitted. After receiving the peer reviews we all passed the paper around and made changes to it, trying to cover all the points that were made in the reviews. I think our paper turned out better and looked more professional at the end. Google Docs was very useful for us to be able to edit the paper online and add content to it without having to email the group members a new copy each time a change was made. I don't think communication was much of an issue with this project.

Group 3 Week 7 - Project 3 Log

It is week 7, and we have spent this week editing and proofreading our draft which we turned in on Monday. Again, all of our communication has been by e-mail. Google Docs made editing and revising our white paper a breeze. I am a lot more comfortable with Google Docs and working over the internet with others as a team. For our final draft, we each took a run through and proof read the white paper - then resaved the paper as Rev1, Rev2, and so on. This method proved very beneficial, and we could see what had been changed and how much better the paper began to look.

Week 7 Log

This week, the final draft of the white paper was written. Parts had been divided up before, and each member wrote their respective section over the weekend. The parts were all put together on Monday and then submitted for review. During the week, we each took turns reading through, and reviewing the white paper, and editing according to the comments posted on this site. Once each of us read through it, we posted it on our groups Google Docs site so the next person could review it.

Now, all the reviews are done, and the white paper has been submitted for a grade.

Project Log Week 7

We've finished up our white paper and submitted it. The collaborative effort seemed to work fairly well, as our paper is through and well-written. The paper was divided up into different sections we all wrote seperately, then we passed the the paper around after our peer group reviewed the paper. I still think it was difficult to contribute as much as other group members due to being at work all day every day, but I do think I still made contributions to the project.

Week 7: Rough Draft, Peer Review, and Final Editing

This week has been mainly devoted to editing. Each of Group 1's members read and commented on Group 2's white paper for some peer review, and that has gone well. The suggestions our group received were somewhat helpful, and we have incorporated some changes both in content and formating.

I made some format changes that have helped the overall look of our paper, and I also did some rewording and spell-checking in the overall document as well as send suggestions I think we should incorporate in the paper to all my team members.

Project Log: Week 7

As the final week of this course concludes, the team is making appropriate steps and plans towards completing a final draft for Project 3. I found it very helpful to use the readings posted in the Project 3 description towards the editing process of the white paper. The readings have helped me identify what components are left to work on for the final copy. The group has taken the approach of a “rotational” editing, where each person will make adjustments to the document and then email the file to the other members, for another person to provide their input.

Project Log Week 7: Rough, Editing, and Final Drafts

We are submitting our final drafts this week. This week, I have compiled the rough draft together using everyone's data and submitted it. I have coordinated with the group how we should go about editing. We are each editing the document and posting the revision to our Google Groups site as ...(rev#). This way, we know that everyone has edited it by ensuring that our final is rev4. I have made my revisions and posted them and am now waiting for others to do the same as we complete our project.

final week

Going into the final revision stages of the paper our group has met several times to discuss, update, and rework the rough draft of the white paper. We started off with an outline, then a skeleton typed out paper, then step by step developing it into a final draft of white paper. In the beginning of the process I believe that we all were a bit uncertain of how to go about the process and if we were doing it correctly. We made some mistakes and learned from them deepening our understanding of just exactly what the paper was going to develop into.
