Project Groups

Below are the groups for Project 3. Groups were assigned alphabetically based on the roster. Emails will be sent today to help each group establish contact, but students can use any medium of communication to complete the project, including e-mail, IM, Google Docs, or the course site, including the wikis provided below, where any member can add content. I have also added categories for each group. Please contact your group members today (Thursday, July 10) to begin discussing the course project. I will provide further instructions on Google Docs and white papers tomorrow (Friday 11).

I know that communication among groups can be difficult, and I remember some very frustrating group projects from my undergraduate experience. However, communicating electronically over distance will be a valuable practice for your professional lives as more businesses are doing networked projects across countries and continents. I encourage you to be patient with each other and a hard working contributor to your group. I would prefer that groups work out problems among themselves before contacting me to settle disputes. Remember also that every group member will be filling out group evaluations at the end of the project to professionally but honestly evaluate each member's performance. Based on the final product, the work logs, and these evaluations, it is usually very obvious to me who worked hard and who slacked off.

Good luck on the project. I'm very pleased at the level of work, participation, and motivation in the course - this is an impressive group of students. Keep up the hard work so we can finish the semester on a strong note.
