Resume and Cover letter post

These are my cover letter and resume for step 2 of project 2 for peer review. I am "applying" for a job at HSSM which does MEP plans for new construction and renovations. Thanks for your comments Smiling

Justine, I hate telling

Justine,

I hate telling people "what they did wrong" in my mind, but since I have to tell you what's on my mind here it goes:
For your cover letter: I think you should use the same format/letterhead as your resume. This would give it more of a personalized look, and also to ease the eyes from all of the text. You said you feel you would be a good candidate for the job in the third paragraph, but don't really explain why you feel that way. I think its the sentence rather than a full paragraph that is throwing me off there (paragraph 3). Other than that, I think the cover letter is just fine.

For your resume: I'd include the word "mechanical" in your objective somewhere rather than just saying the engineering world, just to be more specific. I also would either italicize or bold your employers so that they stand out from the other text. For the other text (what you did at each job) maybe use bullets or something similar to keep it neat. I see you have a minor in EE, which I think is excellent! (I'm a EET haha) You have plenty of community info that will also help. Other than those few things, it looks good!
