I used a brochure made by the US Department of Health and Human Services. The brochure provides information regarding the Nutritional Food Label on the back of food products. It tells consumers how to shop for foods that are healthy as well how to check the number of servings and the servings sizes, and calories. The brochure is structured very well with an eye catching cover page followed by a brief introduction and ending with the nutritional facts. The brochure flows very well, it is concise where it needs to be and the text is easy to read. The alignment is even for the first two pages of the brochure however the last page is aligned so all the information regarding the label can be surrounded in color coding. I think the way they aligned it works perfect for this brochure because it fits everything we need to know about the label on one page and it is appealing to the reader. The facts are color coded and there is a directional box indicating where the facts are referring to. The whole brochure is colorful, some parts more than others, overall the contrast helps the brochure flow well.

I liked this brochure the most of the others that I found. I like the color schemes they used making it, it immediately gets the reader’s attention. I think that is key for any brochure, we want to get the readers interest immediately so they can read the brochure rather than blowing it off. Also the way the structured the information was excellent. I think in any brochure the organization and presentation is just as important as the information and they did a good job color coding the facts. I think we should do something similar so our brochure can be as visually appealing.

That is an interesting brochure. There are many people that do not understand how to read the nutritional facts and they need to to be able to live more healthy. This brochure presents the information in an easy to follow and read format. I like how they color coded everything so that the information can be easily found. The information was presented consistently and the graphics were related directly to what was being discussed. The text on the inside pages are in alignment, but I really liked how they used graphics to join the three panels together.

I really like the front page of the brochure. By using a simple shape design on the front, they are able to really play up the label on products and make them stand out while at the same time not making them out of place. They have done a nice job of making sure that things are not to tight and things feel loose and open. This has a calming effect on the design.

I agree with all of the previous comments that this brochure is extremely well done. In particular, I felt that the use of visuals in this brochure were very effective. The images on the front page and the third page really caught my eye. There is a lot of stark color contrast with the bold colors and the white. These images really depicted the point that the brochure was trying to make. Also the pages with the nutrition label were very well done. As someone already mentioned, the color coding was very helpful in understanding the different pieces of information. I think it was very beneficial to include the sample label to illustrate the information that was being presented.

I absolutely love how this brochure uses bright, bold colors. However, they use different hues to differentiate between the pages. The brochure made it easy and fun to read. Colors are a great way to appeal to all crowds. Almost everyone loves color. This can catch the eyes of kids and adults and thats extremely important because children should start learning to read labels at an increasingly younger age. This is mainly due to the uprising amount of obesity in America. I hope to take the sophisticated, artsy, and fun use of colors displayed into consideration when working with my group to help design our brochure. I think a deep consideration of the colors used will help the project meet and exceed its requirements.

The color scheme on this brochure definitely would make it stand out in a crowd. I love that the front page is simple, unique, colorful, and artistic all at once. Actually I think this might be the funniest looking brochure of all the ones I have seen thus far. Once you get past the neat beginning pages, They maintain the nice design while being professional and informative, which I think is the mix we are all trying to attain. I also think their information is very relevant to everyone who chooses to read it. I think there are some things about the nutrition label and the goals behind it that people do not know.

Thanks for all those who commented on my reading response. From looking at other brochures they were all done very well, I found one aspect in common with all the effective brochures I've seen and that is the cover page. I think the cover page is extremely important in getting the reader's attention, from there the information will flow through the brochure with the reader's interest.
