Beginning the Service Learning Project

As you've discovered through your research, People Called Women is a small, locally-owned, feminist bookstore. Your third project will be to take the information that you've gleaned in your white paper and create an informative brochure that encourages the support of independent bookstores. Our client wants to be able to distribute a brochiure at women's studies and feminist-oriented conferences and they want that brochure to explain the importance of supporting local bookstores. Each of you have created unique white papers addressing a variety of related issues. These can easily be transformed into a visually enticing informative brochure

Project Two: Getting Started

Update: I am changing the calendar to accomodate the error that kept this from being posted originally. Everything (other than your reading response) for this week will be pushed back one day. Also, you can now access the "story" module.

 

For this assignment you will be conducting preliminary research for your client, an independently owned bookstore. In Project Three you will use the information that you collect to create informational materials on the following topic.

Kuntz - Project Log Week 8

Our group worked together this week to revise our brochure, submit the rough draft, and revise again before submitting our final brochure. After reading the helpful suggestions left by our classmates, we decided to change things such as color, alignment, and amount of content. We changed our color from puke green to the softer colors it is now. Each of these definitely made some good improvements to our brochure. was I think our project progress into a good final brochure.

Frizzell - project log week 8

This week we spent time revising our final drafts, and getting the projects finished up. I have been at dance camp in Louisville, KY, so it was hard to edit the documents and have discussions with the group. I had a great time working with the group, and we did the best to get our projects completed!

Project log for week 8

This week we had a MSN meeting in Sunday morning, only Jon Sarah and I were there, we still missed Yenny and Sam. Everyone also gave out some ideas of how to improve our brochure, and I was assigned to do peer review for other group. By Tuesday night, Sarah posted our second draft, and I made some suggestions to our group. Our group communicated via e-mail many times, and we were doing our best to create a professional brochure. After all, Sarah put together everybody’s suggestions came up with our final daft and posted on the weblog on Thursday.

Griffin - Project Log Week 8

Although there was a lack of communication this week, the rough draft and the final draft were both submitted on time. Brian did a great job on the design of our brochure and the peer review comments really helped us edit the rough draft. I believe we completed our task successfully and hopefully PCW will choose out brochure to represent their bookstore and feminism in general.

Finkbiner-Project log week8

This week was spent reading over the comments made by other students and making revisions to our project. We received some helpful comments and tried to implement the ones that we could. We did not meet this week, but we all stayed in contact through email and were able to get the project finished.
