Dallas Work Blog Week 8

This week, I really tried to change the overall image of our flyer. I wanted to try to be more creative with the photograph and the titles. I first began with the photograph. After reviewing comments about my original selection, I wanted to choose a more appropriate photograph for the flyer. I couldn’t find any with Dreadful Penny that suited my needs for the flyer. I finally chose a photo that I thought would be easy to add color effects for a more “creepy” look. I downloaded a program that makes editing photographs easy. I have seen my friends use this program to do similar effects with their own photographs. I thought using this program would be a creative way to add drama to the photograph I chose as the background. Then, I decided to change the font of the title. I downloaded a font I found on google, which I really thought added to the effect of the photograph. I only used this font on “Exquisite Horrors” because I felt it was too much if I used it for the entire title. I then used the same font for “Join us, if you dare…” because I thought it was appropriate. I used the sans serif font for the show dates because I thought it was easier to read against the background. I also decided to keep the logo the same size because I felt if I made it any bigger it would take away from the photograph. Overall, I made some drastic changes to our flyer, but I feel they achieved the look I was hoping for.
