Throughout this last week we have made some final changes and produced some documents that I think we can all be very proud of. We have now taken into account many different critiques. Mr. Plough has critiqued our document, our client, and each of our group members has critiqued the document as well. Mr. Plough has critiqued the documents multiple times and those are the critiques we have used to change our documents the most. The critiques of the client are extremely important as well so we have tried to modify our document to satisfy the client as well.

This last week has been a very productive week for our group. I feel like our draft has come so far in such a little amount of time. I think our draft has gone from mediocre to pretty good. I feel confident in the work that we have done. We have been emailing over the last week just reviewing the suggestions that you Mr. Plough provided and tailoring them in the way that we best saw fit. I think everyone has made small comments to help mold the document into something that we can all be proud of.

On the first section of the five minute brochure design trash test I think that our brochure definantly has a very strong emotional appeal. This is a very dramatic show and I believe that all of our pictures depict that very clearly. I think this definantly connects with people’s desire for mystery and adventure with the unexpected. I think our brochure looks very professional. The brochure has watermarking and lots of other techniques which reflect professionalism. I think our brochure is very personable. If this is the kind of theater that you are into this is very relatable to you.

Over this last week I feel like our group has made so much progress. I feel like we all get so much done in such a small amount of time. We have done this entire project so fast. I felt like in the beginning there was no way that we could get this done on time but we did. My main role in our group this week was to do research. I specifically found out where the performances and how much they would cost. I also found out the group’s mission statement and more specific information to fill out the brochure.

I think the first principle which seemed to be the most important was audience. This brochure features a different type of art than many of us are used to. I think it’s most important to remember that you are developing a brochure to attract someone to this type of art not necessarily making it into something that you would be interested in. This performance is not something that I would be particularly interested in and I think that makes it harder to put together a brochure for it. At the same time it makes me more aware the way I’m putting the brochure and flyer together.

This week was good for our group and I think we got off to a great start so far. I was still a little confused on where to begin with this project because I was still finishing up things from the last project. Once I got fully focused on my new group and our new project I think that things really began to take off. We all contributed to the makings of the Gantt chart. Also we began to delegate responsibilities for the upcoming weeks. I volunteered to do all of the research for the upcoming project.

The brochure that I choose is listed at the bottom of the page. The brochure is made by the EPA about having “green landscape”. The brochure shows why you would want to make landscapes “greener” and how to go about doing that. It tells you how to: build and maintain healthy soil, plant right, practice smart watering, deal with pests holistically, and how to practice natural lawn care. At the end of the brochure it tells you where to go for more information as well.

I looked around online and more specifically youtube and found this video clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOo-tG9q2h0 The clip is quite long but it is a really good example of what these people actually went through. You get to see how frustrating it must have been to actually be stuck somewhere so long. The actual video has captions showing what time each part of the video was shot and the subtitles detail what else was going on besides what the man speaking is saying. Not only could these people not get on their flight, they couldn’t leave or get another flight.
