Service Learning Project Blog #2

Our group met with the “Almost Home Humane Society” again on Tuesday. We proposed our ideas for the Ten Tips for New Dog Owners. Although we had many ideas of tips we could give, we needed to narrow it down and focus on a more specific client. Overall pet care is important, trying to include information about cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and other pets one could have, we focused on Dogs; the Humane Societies most common resident.

We also chose to use information about Dogs in general, not just puppies. Because the Human Society is an adoption center, it was important to not just have info. about puppies. Puppies are usually not as challenging to find homes because they have more appeal than older dogs. Mature dogs have a history and sometimes need a lot of nurturing and care to begin to trust people/owners again.

We’ve had a lot of success working together and allocating tasks. It’s just been a little challenging for us to all get tasks because there isn’t much to do for this project.
