ChemConcepts Memorandum - Bartrom

1. What information in the memo goes beyond what readers need to know? Some of the information that was is not necessary in the memo include: the information about the Illinois (ISFMO) the past injuries that have occurred, the compounds that can cause fires or explosions, and the problem from the past and the explanation for why it was still a problem.

2. How can the memo be reorganized to highlight its purpose? I would move the last paragraph to the beginning of the memo, take out the second paragraph, and then make the first paragraph into the last paragraph.

3. What is the "action item" in the memo, and where should it appear? The action item in the memo is to call a meeting on November 1. It should appear at the very beginning of the document so that readers know what they are getting into.

4. How can the style of the memo be improved to make the text easier to understand? After rearranging the information, I would condense the text so that it isn't so wordy. I would also make the subject line more clear. Instead of FYI, I would put something like "Chemical Safety Meeting" to make it easier for the readers to follow.

5. How might design be used to improve the readers' understanding? The spacing of the header seems to be a little spread out, I would try to make sure that the spacing is 0pt. I would also add a thank you and where I could be reached at the end of the memo.
