Allen - PlaySafe swingIt's sad that in todays world we must filter through massive amounts of legal disclaimers before we get to the point of assembling anything. While many products should have very clear and in-your-face warning labels, I don't like the fact that I have to suffer through that for everything I'll ever purchase from a department store.

Allen - Revision of Chem Concepts MemoThe subject should be stated in the heading of the memo. Instead of "Re:FYI", it could say something like "Subject: To inform about a mandatory meeting to create a chemical handling safety policy." The previous meeting should be mentioned in the first line of the memo, setting up the background information. Then the action that was taken at the meeting should be discussed, and the reader should be informed of the future mandatory meeting and its purpose.

Allen Def: GlitchThe Oxford English Dictionary defines glitch as a slang term to describe a sudden irregular voltage spike in an electrical circuit. The use of the term dates back to 1962 in both noun and verbalized forms (i.e. glitched). The term was captured in writing by John Glenn, who was one of the astronauts that coined the term. The astronauts would use "glitch" to describe what was happening during their electrical troubleshooting.

Allen - Keeping warm is the cool thing to do.Your in the snowball fight of your life! You've been at it for hours with the whole neighborhood, throwing snowballs until your arms are tired. You duck down behind your snow-fort wall to doge incomming missles, and then decide you are tired enough to take a break. A few minutes later, you can't feel you hands or feet, and you start shivering uncontrollably. You start feeling sleepy and want to take a nap and let the cold pass. What's happening? You're being attacked by hypothermia and frostbite, and now is the time to run and get help as fast as you can!
