LanaRyan's blogCSI Guide
First of all, I'm very sorry for not being in class today. My apartment lost power during the night and my alarm did not go off. I'm sorry if I disrupted the group work in any way. Here are my usability question, but I am having problems with the site attatching my actual paper. If I could get emails from you I will be willing to send you all a copy.
Is the manual easy to follow?
Is the "lingo" or language understandable?
Did you personally learn something from this paper? Do you thing most people would?

Swing Set Maual Review
Over all, I think that this is a good pamphlet. I like the pictures that show how/what to do next to the written instructions. Important warnings and safety information is repeated multiple times throughout the text. The instructions are clear, an the designs are appeasing. On thing I did notice though was that at the very beginning, it mentions that the set should be 6 feet away from any other structure, yet in the sample picture it is two feet away from a concrete wall. That could be misleading. The tables make the steps easy to follow, and it all flows along in order of assembly.

ChemConcepts Revision, L. Akey
1) The lists and explanations of the exact chemicals and reactions that cause the combustion are not necessary. A simple sentence such as "ChemConcepts uses many different chemicals that pose a combustion threat when improperly stored." would suffice. Basically, the whole fist half of the second paragraph is not needed, and can be shortened quite a bit. Also, if the information on the state codes are to be included, they need to be integrated into the subject matter better. Is the company currently adhering to the codes?

A "scapegoat" is commonly known now as a person or object of blame. Often a term describing an individual that is ostracized and of low class in a given society.

Here's my submission. I know it's pretty rough, and I really would appreciate lots of feed back. I got a little lost on this one.

Information on Frostbite
The website as it is now reads like a textbook. To really grab and inform pre-teens, it needs to read like a fasion or sports magazine article. There should be easily separated and defined setions, such as "Causes", "Symptoms", "Prevention", and "Treatment". The Symptom coloum could be a bulleted list clearly stating the basic symptoms and warning signs. Adding color, bolded and varied fonts, and pictures will grab attention. The language of the article should be "younger", with less technical terms and more descriptive phrases for those not familiar with scientific jargon.
