What aspects of the resumes stood out?

The resumes that stood out to me were the first one (XXXX), Joe W. Roberts, Stan "the Man" Buttweavel, No Name, and Sarah Smith.

The five I chose were: Olivia Nancy Bryant, XXXXXXX, the one without a name or any adresses, Johnny Appleseed, and Joe W. Roberts

What aspects of the resumes stood out?

With the limited amount of time I had to read each resume I found myself skimming over the objective statement. If I liked what they said I read more, and if I didn’t I went on to the next one. Many objective statements stressed how the applicant wanted this job for personal goals, such as experience.

After spending 10 minutes looking through all of the resumes, I decided I would call the following candidates for an interview: No Name, Olivia Nancy Bryant, Mary A. Smith, Sarah Smith, and Caleb Robert Fisher.

I think this was a great example of illustrating the point that HR departments need to look at lots of resumes in very little time. When I read in a previous blog that a resume maybe gets 30 seconds or less, I was shocked, but now that I was put in their position I understand that a resume really needs to stick out. As I looked through the resumes first I read the objective statement.

What aspects of the resumes stood out?

These resumes were all very organized. They used white space effectively. Some had subtle design separating each section. They were uniform throughout the resume.
