IMPORTANT: ITaP service outage from 4 pm Saturday to 8 am Sunday

Due to a process interrruption, last weekend's scheduled service outage didn't happen.  It has been rescheduled to this weekend, which may postpone submission of your group project evaluations.

All central IT services -- including access to e-mail, ITaP labs, and
Software Remote -- will be shut down from 4 pm Saturday to 8 am Sunday, due to scheduled power outages in Freehafer
Hall. Since these service interruptions will be in place at midnight on Saturday, I have extended the deadline for group project evaluations to Sunday at 5 pm.

Technical Marketing Project: peer review assignments, and peer review guidelines

Here are the assignments for tomorrow's peer review session for technical marketing documents:

Technical Marketing Project: lecture notes on production

Today's activities focus on production of technical marketing documents. As you might have gathered, there’s considerably more involved with
production of a technical marketing document that simply creating the document and printing it.  Remember, professional
presentation of a hard-copy technical marketing document is key to successful completion of this project because this is the form in which your target
audiences will see the document.

Tracy's blog 13: document design and technical marketing documents

Technical marketing documents are produced with specific attention paid to document design.  Writers and designers make a series of key decisions related to the product, the manufacturer, target audiences, availability of resources used to produce the document, and the document’s point of distribution.

Document design: the basics

Tracy's blog 12: more about images and technical marketing documents....

Yesterday's readings addressed the use of images. As I’ve mentioned a number of times this semester, images function in pretty much the same way as does text – to communicate information to a target audience in ways that reflect the topic, the immediate writing situation, and the individual, team, or company/organization sponsoring the document.

Alli Features

The real power in the over the counter weight loss drug Alli, is in how much value it provides to the customer. Besides being the only FDA approved weight loss product, Alli makes the process easy, straight forward, and supports its customers.

This is the Project Proposal.

Group 5 - The Tesla Roadster, Speeding into the future

This project is meant to introduce our audience to the Tesla Roadster, a 100% electric sports car.  All of our deliverables will be posted here.

Tracy's blog 11: research and technical marketing documents

Writers and designers of technical marketing documents need to do a great deal more than merely advertise a product/manufacturer, attract an audience, and present technical specifications.

These documents and their creators must strike a balance between communication, information, rhetoric, and research

REMINDER: ITaP service outages on July 19 and July 26

All central IT services -- including access to e-mail, ITaP labs, and Software Remote -- will be shut down from 4 pm Saturday to 8 am Sunday on July 19 and July 26, due to scheduled power outages in Freehafer Hall. Since these service interruptions may affect work completed for the Technical Marketing Project -- specifically, posting your proposals, if running behind; and preliminary drafts, if running ahead -- it's important that you plan ahead as best as you can.

Tracy's blog 10: reactions to technical marketing documents

I’ve
read your reactions to, and questions about, the Technical Marketing Presentation Project,
and after spending these past few hours thinking about them, here
are some responses. These are designed not only to answer questions that have been raised, but also to guide project planning and research.
