Out of this nice chunk of section I think the part where Vincent is working as NEd really grabbed my attention. The men that he was around was definetly something else. I can't believe they just used women like they did and went on bragging about it. To talk of the girl, Tiffany, that was 18 and pregnant and she used it for all it was worth. I just thought this part of the book was terrible. There are some things that you just don't do. But I guess these guys didn't really care, being salesmen and all. THey would do anything to get a sale and make a buck. And it was sad to hear how little they made. I felt sorry for them but at the same time they should have known better. If these managers didn't have these poor little people going out and doing this sort of work for them there would be no company. They should all just quit and screw over the manager. Because who knows if they really were in your shoes one day or if they just started up this company because they knew that they could use people. All of them got used, wheither they wanted to admit it or not, they did. NEd knew it, did the others?

Now this gets a little interesting. I was suprised at the fact that she wanted to infiltrate a monistary. It just seemed a little odd of a place to start, but then made perfect since. She should have done a little research on what men talk about, especially in that situation so she wouldn't have embarassed herself so. Yet she learned from it and got right back on.
I love how she tried to tell one of the Father's that she was in fact a woman, but he thought she(Ned) was just gay. He had so many questions about homosexuality, it made me wonder if he was gay as well. I mean he sounded like it, but who am I to stereotype? Maybe like she said, he didn't know. \

hmm...now this is different. I never thought that I would have to read about a woman being a man for a year or so. I think she goes in great detail about what all needs to be done to become a man, but she can be real confusing at times as well. I think it was funny how she learned how to make a beard, but why on earth would you cut your own hair to make a beard and then put it on with glue?
I wouldn't think that it would be that hard to do, to learn from someone anyways. I glad she learned how to perfect the look, but she should have learned how to perfect how she acted around other guys. In order to understand people you have to become familiar with what they know and how they work. Otherwise, they are going to know that something is up. In her case, they just thought that she was gay. I didn't like how she wouldn't become someone else entirely. Sure it is probably hard to live two lives but in order for everyone else to believe where you are coming from you should at least have the same language as them.

So the ending is confusing? Is this something that he imagined? Did she really find him? Is that why everything was redecorated? I know that he desperately wanted to be with her. If it really was her, wouldnt he jump up and hug her? Wouldn't someone speak up and say something? Was it really real? There are so many questions to ask. People talked in class today saying that this was a cool ending, but what kind of ending was that?
I hate it when books are left up in the air! It just doesn't seem to make any sense. I do appologize for rambling because in the end everyone wants a happy ending. That's waht I want. I want this to be true. I want to know that the narrator did find Louise. I want to kno wthat the narrator will be there to take care of her til the end.

So cancer, huh? Why in the world would the narrator leave their so-called-love if they realled loved her? They went through so much to get to where they were and the narrator just left. Sure it was for her own good, but how could you trust the husband? I just find it hard to believe that the narrator would leave without a word or trace. Sure she may have better care with her husband but you don't know that. Why in the world leave?
Then to just go somewhere and start over takes a lot of balls. I guess the narrator for once was actually thinking of someone else, their love. Maybe the narrator does love Louise, but I still would have been there to help her through it.

While I admit that I had to read on because this book has no chapters I am still puzzled about what all has gone on in this book. It is hard to go back and forth because the author never reveals theirself. Although I more than positive that it has to be a woman. Why else would Louise's husband be ok to sit at breakfast with the two of them. This book has a weird parody to it. The marriage between Louise and Elgin is already messed up because they already are not intimate with each other. He sleeps with prostitutes and is gone many times. The fact that he doesn't get that upset about the realtionship really says something. He must think that nothing really happens because it is between two women. He just seems to mellow and laid back for me. He asks, oh so are you going to leave me now? What kind of question is that? Instead of getting mad and furious he asks that, does he really love her?

So I was confused at the beginning of this book as to if the narrator was either a male or a female. Then it just seemed to ramble on about everything that you could say about love. I must admit I was lost. then when the narrator started talking about his new girlfriend it all seemed to come into play.
I think maybe he is just afraid of commitment. He sits there and talks about all of the affairs he has had and yet never wants to continue anything further. When it comes to marriage the narrator is scared. They said something about getting too close and you only get hurt. Most of the relationships the narrator has had was with a married person.

So the ending ticked me off. They worked so hard and trying to get equality among all. Then at the very end did it all go to waste? And what happened with Gro!? This book jumps around too much. There is no end, it is left hanging with many questions to ask. Did Gro have the baby? Was Petronious part of it's life?
Oh and the book that Petronious wrote, brillant! It is like us today reading this book. We sit here and ponder could this actually happen. It is amazing though how he thought of the words that we use today. That seemed a little too sureal. And the reaction that it got out of others. Could he really expect anyone to like the book? Of course not, it was just to show what menwim felt like. He wanted the wim to know what they were going through. So he thought if he turned the tables around like he did that it would grab their attention. And it most certainly did just that.

WOW! This one just comes right out with it. I was startled by what happened between Petronius and Baldrian. Was it because they were drunk and everyone else was around them? I understand that they were around each other all the time and confiding in each other, so therefor they grew fond of each other. Then to see Owlmoss and Fandango, that was extremely weird. Not to mention the age difference, but that was his student!! They obviously had no rules about this, and I'm not saying anything about the simple fact of them swinging to that side. I was just very shocked that had happened.
Then they don't mention anymore of it after that. Was it for the simple purpose to grab your attention and nothing more? Or is it because the book would be way too long if they went into it? Then there is no more mention of Gro. He says he loves her then kisses Baldrian. Was this just one night of confusion?

So Im glad this whole masculists thing started. Im eager to see where it goes. Then menwim were just dieing to be heard. I know its supposed to be the "social order" but they should be treated equal. Sure in today's society we, the sexes, aren't completly equal but we are getting there and working on it. I wish they would incorporate more people into their little society. I know they try but young boys? I know it could be the face of the future but what can they do?
It is different as well I think that Gro does not come around more. In the last section we found that she asked Petronius if he would like fatherhood-protection.

Very interesting! I love how I can't really make myself put this book down. The twist in words and the twist in lives. It is weird to see men having a hard time going into the woods at night. Maybe by men reading this they will understand what women go through. Though it is extremely exaggerrated with 3 women jumping on him all at once, it throws incite to how women sometimes feel. They feel they can't walk in the dark alone at night. They feel afraid of the opposite sex many times. And for a strong young boy to be afraid of a fat woman just sounds unheard of.
I do like how Spn Owlmoss tries to tell the children that there could be more to life than what is lead to see. And when he opens up to them to tell them, because it is the only way, they laugh in his face. It goes to show that freedom of speech was not allowed in this day. Things had to be in a certain order and without that order they felt that everything would fall apart. I just hope that he goes on in more depth to try to make things more equal among the sexes. He is definitely getting through to the children with his outrageous blow that crashed the desk. I just want to see more and see what Petronious will do. I hope he will be one to set new beginnings.

I think that this is going to be a very interesting book. Starting out I was very confused because it talked of weird words and things I didn't understand. Then it went on and as the story unfolded and made more sense.
I thought it was very interesting how the author took an interesting twist on life at hand. Everything seemed to be backwards. Even the title man and woman were different. Everything seeming to range from the woman being in power. It was like telling this is how life is going or would be if women ran the world. Men are unheard of to have a high position in the government. If you saw that most of the people in Parliment were women. And when a man spoke out it was different. They may have listened to what he had to say but they quickly disregarded it. The man was to stay at home and take care of the children. The woman did all the work and provided for the family. The woman chose the man. The men wore dresses for crying out loud!! It's an unheard of society and yes this coming from a woman.
