Dear Dr. Blakesley:
Project 4 was the first project that I learned to design multiple different pages. I was asked to create this manual for my EPICS team. I wanted an easily readable document with lots of pictures so that building these homes was easy to do not only for the construction managers but the Haitian volunteers.
The printing was also something I really had to plan for. Most of the documents will be printed in the U.S. and then distributed to foreign offices, but in the wake of a disaster, the document must be able to be printed on a simple home computer (one that would be in a foreign HFH office). Because of this aspect, the entire document has no color and the design elements are minimal to reduce costs.
Feedback I would like for this project is mostly centered on the readability of the document. Is there enough white space and images to make the manual seem readable and understandable for volunteers who can’t read the manual? Also, is my idea for low cost printing viable in real life?
Looking forward to your comments,
Suzie Mason
