Design Log for Week 5 - How Do I Make Awesome Designs Within InDesign?

This week has been challenging for a design standpoint. I really wanted to create some odd shape to use in the header (and possibly footer) of my brief. Kinda like this one.  But I could not figure out how to do this within InDesign, so I gave up.

Since I could not figure out how to do this, I decided to bring in previous made graphics to spruce up the design of the brief. Now I'm a big fan of corner brushes so I looked up some on the web and found this awesome site. It includes several corner brushes that you just have to download.

After decided on a brush I liked (and figuring out how to place it in my document), I went back to look at Typography. I choose Garamond Pro for the headings and body font, while using Cooper Black as the Project Title font. I thought it made it stand out better. I also made the headings italized and larged than the body text to make them stand out more.

The overall layout is assymetrical mostly because I like it. It's a informally formal document, one that would be used with a younger cliente. I like it! Smiling
