Design Log

One of my favorite band's website is probably one of the best designed sites that I ever use.  I probably check this website daily since tDB are on tour now, so it is really beneficial for it to be designed well with good structure and outline elements.

On the website, the top right is all links that have always been there, making it very easy to navigate.  Any news is shown on the left side with the tour dates right in the center.  There isn't very much else on the site you could even need that isn't right there when you open the page. You really don't need to even scroll down, since there is a drag-it tool and all information is right there at your disposal.  The color scheme is mainly blues, and also goes well with the winter tour and cold theme.

This website gives you a lot of information and is set up perfect for users while pretty much being self explanatory. This link will be the website:

Interesting Site for Discussion

This is a really interesting site, Caroline. What do others think about this one? What works really well about the design? Are there any problems or issues to be worried about from a designer's perspective (or in terms of usability)?

I like the simplicity of the site.  Everything is right there ready for someone to click on.  The background is a little boring, just the plain blue.  if it were in a smaller window I'm sure you wouldn't even see that though and wouldn't have to scroll over to finish reading something. I really liked the snow falling in the top behind the title. It gives it some movement on the screen which is appealing to the eye.

I do like the fact that all of the information is on the homepage of this website.  However, I wish that it had some more images breaking up all of the text.  It's pretty text heavy and it'd be nice to see a photo of the band on this page.

This website has excellent design.  Right away, anyone can figure out how to navigate the site.  I like how the front page is actually one page and it doesn't require me to scroll down to find additional information.  There is also some cool animations when you put the pointer over the navigation links.

You describe the site very well here. The site is simple and easy to navigate, but at the same time it has all the content a person would want. I especially like the "photos" portion of the site and I think that's worth commenting on. Is there anything else you'd like to see added to the site?

tDB site

I agree with you, Caroline.  This is quite the user-friendly site.  All the information a Bisco fan could need is right there when the website opens.  No scrolling is necessary, which I always like.  The only thing I see a problem with in terms of usability is the size of the font for the "Winter Tour Dates" and "Tour Dates" sections.  Yes, I can read it, but give my eyes a few more years and there is no way I could read this without squinting.  Other than this tiny text issue, I think this site is well-constructed.  As compact as it is, the site seems to cover every aspect someone visiting the site would need.

Visually Awesome Site

The first thing that struck me about this sight was the four corner color gradient; that fantastic blue is darker in the corners and lighter toward the middle, drawing your eyes to the center and the content.  The color scheme is consistent, and adds to the visual appeal.

Another aspect of the site's design I like is the visual feedback when you place your cursor over the options at the top (Home, Downloads, etc.).  Flying objects that look like Chase Bank logos indicate your selection, which is a nice touch.

I agree that this site is

I agree that this site is very well designed, and that everything you could possibly want is right there in your face.  I especially think that the placement of this data, especially the tour dates right in the center of the page with all other information surrounding it is beneficial, since that is the most important information anyone logging on to the site will be looking for.

Simple...

I am a huge fan of simplicity. This website is the essence of simplicity. It is easy to navigate and is even condensed enough to fir into the frame of the browser. On top of all that it is a basic layout with few colors. Simple... yet effective.
