Carder Design Log Week 16

The image to the left is one of the most intriguing designs I have found this semester. I really like how the typography of the picture creates an image. The size and contrast of the light and dark letters create a vivid picture of Jimi Hendrix. This design has no real practical use for the newsletter I am working on for project 5, but the design is still really neat.

Carder Project Log Week 16: The Final Countdown

At the beginning of this week, I was still completing project 4. On Thursday, I submitted project 4 and have now turned my attention to project 5, which is due by midnight on Thursday, May 7. Project 5 is still in the early stages of drafting. I feel that I have collected enough assets to begin putting together a newsletter for Glenwood Cooperative.

Project 4 Submission - Stationery

i have attached Project 4 following the Adobe Acrobat format. Thanks.

Project Log Week 15: Revising Projects 4 & 5

I spent the majority of this week working on my project management brief for project 4. I found typography and a color scheme that I think would work really well for the stationery I am trying to print. The peer reviews I received for my project brief were very helpful. I was able to assess the readability of the stationery, which was one of my main concerns. I am going to spend the weekend reviewing the peer reviews and adding some finishing touches to the stationery. I'm still looking for a place to print a mock-up of the document.

Project 4 Peer Review - Stationery

I have created stationery for the cooperative house I live in. The stationery we use for formal events could definitely use a redesign. I have some neat color palettes (I think) and I would really like some feedback on which one you like best! I do not plan on changing the font or size, but if you think I am missing something on the inside of the invitation, please give me some hints.

Design Log Week 14: Newsletter Template

I have attached two files for my design log this week. I researched the last two newsletters sent from Glenwood for content and design. The newsletter from Spring 2008 has a better design than the other, but I think both lack consistency and a solid color scheme. I'm not impressed by either design, which is why I am confident I can create a much better newsletter template. Let me know what you think!

Project Log Week 14: Projects 4 & 5

This week proved to be slightly less productive than I hoped. I have completed questionnaires for both Projects 4 and 5, but have found little time to really devote myself to completing either project management brief.

For Project 4, I spent time reviewing the current stationery at Glenwood Cooperative. I am working on color schemes and folding stationery designs. I have until Thursday April 23 to complete the project management brief for peer review.

Design Log for Week 13

The stationery i will create for Glenwood will have an imprint of the house on the front. I think it would be neat to add a watercolor effect to the imprint, much the face of the woman in the picture I have attached.
