I can't for the life of me figure out how to save as a PDF, but I opened it on a couple different computers, and the formatting stays the same.

After being at Purdue University for four years, I have finally found a major that makes me happy. It’s important for me to know, however, what my professional life will be like outside of this university. Being a student for 18 years makes it difficult to imagine anything else. I am eager to discover what this career is actually like from a professional in the field.
For the Mapping Project in this class, I created a document whose purpose is to aid students in making scheduling choices that will save them time between classes. This map uses persuasive arguments that lead to decision architecture. By providing specific information on time saving opportunities, students will be forced to choose between them. I used this type of decision architecture to create this rhetorical situation.
The progress on my map is going very well. It took me awhile to fully realize exactly what I wanted my map to show. It differs now compared to my initial project proposal. I would like to appeal more to the campus student body than to any administration. My map will help students make scheduling decisions that are efficient and convenient by making sure not to put two classes together that are a huge distance apart.
Purpose of the document:
The purpose of this map is to show in detail the locations of different computer labs across a college campus. More specifically, it shows the location on campus, the building the lab is in, and the room number. It also gives phone numbers for each lab and explains which school the lab belongs to, i.e. Journalism, Engineering, etc.
Approach/design of the document:
How many times has a Purdue student been late to a class at Lily because he or she was running from the Engineering mall? It’s almost impossible to make it to Rawls from the Math building in the ten minutes a student has between classes. It’s not fair that a student may miss out on turning in a homework assignment because of a mad dash across campus. This problem needs to be remedied. A good solution is to change the scheduling system so it does not schedule classes back to back in buildings far away from each other.
