Anne Reznicek's Interview Progress Report

The Interview – An Overview

Anne Reznicek's Interview Proposal

The Professional Writing major, while seemingly more adapted to the way the future is headed in business in technology, can still seem vague and out of reach to some. While Professional Writing classes attempt to dissect and explain the profession and the purpose of it, a true sense of what a professional writer does can be more easily attained by interviewing a real, live professional writer.

Anne Reznicek's Project Assessment

Biking is something that I have loved to do since I was little. As I grew older, however, it slowly became more inconvenient for me to use it as my primary mode of transportation, since cars are so easy to use in the suburbs, and I got out of the habit. Coming to Purdue, however, I saw how high the amount of traffic and congestion is and then saw how accessible Purdue’s campus is for bicycling as a primary mode of transportation.

Anne Reznicek's Map Rough Draft

Driving around Purdue University is bothersome, time-consuming and frankly idiotic. Some may dream of a time when we'll all be able to conveniently travel around in our climate-controlled vehicles, but the reality is that it is becoming less of an option with each day and becomes more of strain on our resources and environment. Biking on campus would be an excellent solution, and a faster trip at that.

Anne Reznicek's Progress Report

The progress for my mapping project is going well. My research is still in its early stages, however. As I am recording the time it takes for bikes to get to and from campus and various locations, it has been difficult to research this in the snow and inclement weather. I plan on doing this tomorrow and through the weekend, however. Tomorrow I will get travel times on bike during peak hours on campus, and over the weekend I will get the rest.

Anne Rezniek's Analysis Document

It would be an understatement to say that Purdue’s campus is overridden with cars. The huge amount of vehicles in transit around the campus in West Lafayette makes travel time slower, prevents exercise and with such stop and go traffic, heavily pollutes the environment. And with such limited parking, simply making it to campus is only half the battle. Biking to and around campus is an easy solution, and I aim to create a map for people interested in solving any or all of the above problems with driving to campus, along with common cyclist obstacles, safety, and ride times.
