Mapping Project Assessment
This map addresses the difficulty that students sometimes face in finding a place to study while on campus. Professional Writing students in particular have enormous amounts of reading and writing to do on a daily basis. Many of these students drive to campus and spend 8-10 hours per day here. Others live in residence halls and have loud roommates or other distractions, so they choose to remain closer to where classes are held. Whatever the reason, for many students, it simply isn't practical to brave the elements to return home.
Introduction
For this project, I have been able to find only a small number of Web sites to use as references. It seems that when it comes to study areas, it is assumed that students will find their own way, or they'll use the study lounges in their residence halls. Here I will outline some alternatives.

Purpose of the Document
This project focuses on production of a map showing Professional Writing students where there are study areas and computer labs available in certain areas of the Purdue University main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. While the focus audience is Professional Writing students, the map’s usability is not limited to those students. The map serves to point out the many study areas and computer lab locations throughout campus, particularly those in or nearby Heavilon Hall, where a majority of English and writing classes are held.
