Week 15 Project Log

This past week we were able to finish up the Multimedia Draft and User Documentation. The biggest issue with revisions right now is being able to keep the correct formatting in the user documentation when converting it to a .pdf. I have worked on it for an hour or so to try and fix it but each time the spacing is off in a couple of places. I'm going to try and reformat the entire first page of the document to a form that will convert easier. The peer review comments we received were helpful and we are ready to implement new revisions as soon as we get more feedback from Kevin.

Week 16 Project Log
Posted April 26th, 2008 by cemackDuring week 16, our team completed the User Documentation and Multimedia Presentation Draft. On Wednesday Steph and I met at the Itap lab in Hicks UGL to begin on the two documents. I was working on using Adobe Captivate to make video clips of Google Docs. It was pretty simple to record them, but it was difficult getting them into PowerPoint. I ended up just changing them for .swf to .mpeg and it worked just fine. After we get the feedback from the users we will start working on the Final Documents to turn in on the deadline. Any feedback would be great!

Project Log - Week 16

This week was a very busy week for me, with the inclusion of 3 other projects going on simultaneously. Unfortunately, our group turned in our User Documentation and Multimedia Presentation drafts slightly later than the Wednesday Midnight deadline, but we did get the job done. I was able to meet with Stephanie Thursday morning to go over the slides in person and add some more slides to the end to wrap it up. We also made a few revisions here and there to make it complete. Stephanie had an issue with the videos, which I am still not too sure is resolved. After downloading the presentation off the websites, the videos still did not work properly in the slideshow, so this may be something we need to work on before submitting our final presentation next week. All in all, our group should be on track to finishing this project on time.

GDS Multimedia Presentation Draft

Here is the draft for our presentation. All feedback is appreciated. While viewing the presentation, the videos are started when you click the screen.
GDS User Documentation Draft

Here is our user doc draft. All comments and feedback are appreciated. GDS is mainly concerned with overall effectiveness of the document, formatting errors (some of these are due to the .pdf conversion) and grammatical errors. Please review our draft with these things in mind.
GDS NEW Usability Report

Here is the Usabiliy Report for our group, revised as a report rather than a usability study. Feedback on the previous document was appreciated, and more on this one will be as well.

Week 15 Project Log

For week 15 we were able to get the drafts for our usability studies done and combine them into a comprehensive draft. We still have to finish the multimedia project but we are meeting during dead week to finish that up. The more of us that can meet at once the better, but that is getting increasingly difficult with finals week coming up and everyone being so busy. For next week I plan on speaking again with our client to see if we could use some archived files to inculde in the Google Documents presentation, so that it is even more specific for the program.

Week 15 Project Log
Posted April 20th, 2008 by cemackAs of now, we are on track with the project and the different milestones. So far we have completed the client email, proposal, and both usability test drafts. We are supposed to meet sometime within the next couple of days to work on the multimedia presentation with the Adobe software. It would be great to get everyone from our team to meet up, but if not it will still be a great time for everyone to work together for the presentation. This week will be very busy, since all group projects will be due this week before finals start. Should be fun.
