Attached is the Revisions Memo that was not posted to the Final Illustrated Instructions blog.

Final Illustrated Instructions

This is the A-Team's final draft of our illustrated instructions project. This team consisted of Dane May and Myles Basso and our instructions were to show how to setup a wireless router using a Linksys product. Attached below is our project's final instructions and final revision memo. Also below is the links for our usability test and our proposal. The A-Team feels as though this was an excellent experience and hope other students like us be successful at setting up a Linksys wireless router.

Work Plan

After reading our comments taking another look at what we need to do to finalize our drafts, Myles and I have decided to add more content and more detail.  We decided to cover a few more detailed instruction parts such as "Administration'"and "Status".  We not only added more detail and content but revised our screenshots and made them more functional to our user.  Our layout was not changed very much but only a little to get rid of some confusion for the user. After changing and adding a few different components of our Project 2, we should be all set to turn in our final drafts by Wednesday.

Work Plan

There are many things that need to be tweeked a bit before Dane and I are done with our project. As we reviewed the comments left by another group and also looking a set of similiar instructions, we decided to go more in depth with our instructions. Many topics can be covered when dealing with wireless networks and we feel as if we have covered a majority of them. Some things that we look to improve include;

1. Adding multiples screenshots to not confuse the reader
2. Explaining the rest of the wireless tabs included in the Linksys user interface
3. Going into further detail with some of our acronyms
4. Adding a glossary for continually used abbreviations and acronyms
5. Re-organizing our instruction layout and numbers

These are the five things that will finish up our Project 2 and make it a good experience. Dane and I will be working on this Monday night while collaborating on AIM.

Project Log - Week 11

This week Myles and I accomplished a lot of work.  We first started off by meeting and discussing what we needed to do for the week.  We also talked about the amount of work we were going to be splitting up.  We shared our opinions on the usability test and came to an agreement of what questions should be on there for our final draft.  Next we proceeded to discuss and complete the draft of our instruction sets.  We worked very efficiently and helped each other when there was problems.  Myles has been an excellent team member.

Week 11 Project Log

Coming back from Spring Break, the A-Team took a little bit of time to get back into school. We talked about how we could improve our instructions a little more, and decided to explain terminology a little in depth. We added five pages to the instructions and probably have about five more to complete it. Dane and I have had great communication throughout the project and wouldn't mind having a partner like this for future projects. Learning about what makes a well written instructions has been interested this week, and I enjoyed responding to my classmates' responses. Only five weeks left of school, and project four is on it way.
