Project Three: Client Contact Email

Week 16 Project Log

During week 16, our team completed the User Documentation and Multimedia Presentation Draft.  On Wednesday Steph and I met at the Itap lab in Hicks UGL to begin on the two documents.  I was working on using Adobe Captivate to make video clips of Google Docs.  It was pretty simple to record them, but it was difficult getting them into PowerPoint.  I ended up just changing them for .swf to .mpeg and it worked just fine.  After we get the feedback from the users we will start working on the Final Documents to turn in on the deadline.  Any feedback would be great!

Project 3 Log - Week 14

Our project seems to be coming together quickly.  Throughout week 14 our group has been very productive.  Our main way of communication has been through e-mail.  This week Katie and I worked on the project proposal as we met through AOL's instant messenger.  It was very effective as we could talk and share opinions over the proposal.  After finishing and revising it ourselves we sent it off to the rest of our group where we asked them to revise and share their opinions.  It was very helpful to hear their feedback.  Once we fully revised our group proposal we sent it out for one last look.  After everyone agreed on the layout and content we posted it to the site.  Overall this week was very vital to keep the ball rolling as everyone participated and stayed in touch.

Project 3 Log #1

This week was very successful.  As a team, we each introduced ourselves and gave a little background information.  We then went on to each individually give out our contact information including email addresses, phone numbers, and instant messenger names.  After talking to Kevin and figuring out a time to meet and chat we began brainstorming for our ideas.  During the chat with Kevin we all recieved a better understanding of the project leading us to come up with our client.  Our chosen client was the Center for Carreer Opportunities (CCO) here at Purdue University.  Our technology is going to be Google Calendars as many of the team members have had experience with the application.  Erin stepped up and created the proposal letter and sent it out to the rest of the group for editing and opinions.  After collaborating with Kevin and recieving some advice we sent it off to one of the head people at CCO.

Starting out the week, I was somewhat confused as to what was going on. I had no idea what the project was about. After my groups meeting with Kevin, I feel that I now have a clue as to what we are doing. For our project, we decided to set up a Google calendar to work with Purdue's CCO. Hopefully, they will accept our offer, and we can begin to work with them. On our calendar we will include all of the job fairs, seminars, and resume issues. Hopefully this organization of CCO's schedule will help students that are out there trying to get jobs.
