Project Log - Week 12

This week we completed our final drafts of the Illustrated Instructions project.  My partner and I worked on completing the instructions.  I converted them to pdf and  posted them to the site.

Project log week 12

This week group DK submitted the final instructions. I wrote the memo and the blog post while my group member kyle edited the instructions and put it all together. We did a very efficient job of this and I feel that future projects will run as smoothly.

Work Plan

I feel that there is some I and my partner can do to help complete our project. Some revisions that we need to make are to make sure our instructions are easy to read and understand. I feel that visual representation is fine.

I also want to make sure that opening up the program is easy to understand and is easy to find.

I also want to make sure that there are not too many instructions for each step. Too many words for a step can be confusing to a reader.

I also feel that formatting could be worked on as part of my revisions. I feel that what we have is good but it of course be worked on and improved.

I feel that more reader input would be helpful in understanding what else we could do to improve on our instructions.

Other then that I feel that there are not a whole lot of revisions that need to be made for the instructions to be ready.

Work Plan

I will follow up on the comments that were added by the peer review.  The person who completed the usability test made many useful comments.

The first area we need to work on is to show more detail in our screenshots, zoomed images were suggested.  Also captions need to be added to explain what each shot is attempting to show.

Secondly, the calendar section needs to show more features and detail.  There are more options that can be elaborated on.

Third, I would like to show how to group contacts using the company category or another category, making it easy to find a group of people.  I would also like to show how to create a mass mailing group.

Project log week 11

This week our group got back on task after a long spring
break. We posted illustrated instructions as well as questions to be answered while
others work through our instructions. This was done in a group. I prepared the
works and my partner, Kyle posted them. The towards the end of the week, we
commented on another group's instructions giving them feedback on what to
improve. This was also done in a group because the calendar said for each group
to complete a Usability test for another group. All of this was done along with
the normal reading responses and comments. Next week I expect things to go as smoothly
as they have been.

    Using Outlook for personal tasks

This is a questionnaire that we would like you to complete after testing out our instructions for using the features on outlook. Please complete these questions to the best of your ability so that we may increase the understanding of the program. Thank you.

The instructions are attached below.

Feel free to add any additional comments. The more information received the better the instructions will become.

Project Log: Week 9

krrupert's picture

This week our main objectives were to complete an individual set of instructions for our project, usability test for the instructions, and one peer review for each of these assignments.  I feel as if we made very big leaps in our project by completing the first two of these assignments.  Dayne and I each did our own set of instructions and focused on different areas that we were comfortable with, combining them for a final draft should yield good results.  Doing the peer reviews of other projects was a good way to not only help them make improvements, but get good ideas for our own project.

Porject log week 9

This week was a very productive week. I wrote my illistrated instructions for project two. Me and Kyle wrote the Questions and submitted them. Then on friday Peer reviews were completed to help all the groups become better and have a better final outcome for their projects. Next week we are off for spring break but the week after that I assume that things will run as smoothly as they have been and me and my partner continue to accomplish the goals for this project.
