Attached is the final draft for Dynamic Duo of the Illustrated Instructions project, An Introduction to Flickr.  It is a guide for both first time members and existing members who wish to use Flickr's Web 2.0 capabilities.  Below links are included to the original proposal memo and usability test.  Files for these have also been attached for easier access.  Thank you to the groups who provided feedback on all parts leading up to the finished project.

Project 2 Work Plan

This week we will be making the final revisions and corrections to our instructions. We will take into consideration the feedback we received from others using our usability test. Final checks include checking for any minor grammar and spelling mistakes and making sure the illustrations look uniform and correspond properly with the section they are a part of. Finally we will PDF the final version and it will be ready for submission.

Finishing up the final draft this week will include a few formatting revisions and revisions involving feedback from the usability test.  We need to go through the draft with a 'fine comb' to check for formatting and grammatical errors.  I need to go though the section of instructions involving groups administration and edit it according to the feedback received.  It needs tobe a bit more deatiled/explanatory in order to answer any questions it might currently leave the reader.  I feel that the illustrations are finished, but we could probably look through them all once again to  make sure we are happy with all of them.

Week 11 Project 2 Log

This week we took the two parts of our individual drafts and combined them.  The main issue with this was editing to make sure the format was the same throughout the entire document.  Also we each had a draft for the first section, and the content from both drafts needed to be combined into one.  Other than that the final screenshots were formatted and the two parts were put together fairly easily.  We have received feedback via out usability test, so the next step is to incorporate that advice into our final draft.

Project 2 Log - Week 11

This week we combined our individual efforts and collaborated to bring our instructions together. We had to make some minor adjustments to our existing structure to make the two documents mesh together properly but overall the process was not too difficult since we had all the information we needed. One thing we could have done, looking back, was to agree upon a common format of numbering so that merging would be seamless, but we will keep that in mind for the future. (Hindsight is 20/20) We are in the process of performing a Usability Test for the A-Team. We received some good test results on our own project and will be taking them into consideration as we make revisions to improve our instructions.

Usability Test
An Introduction to Using Flickr

The purpose of this usability test is to determine the ease of use in utilizing the website Flickr via the attached instruction set. For each question that requires a yes or no answer, please provide feedback as the reason for your answer. The more detailed the feedback, the better we can tailor the instructions to meet the needs of the reader.

Project 2 Log, Week 9

This week we both were able to complete individual drafts and the usability test draft.  The feedback for both was great and a good way to start revisions and combining the two drafts.  We've both got a good start with our individual portions, the main issue with combining them will be agreeing on the format, a more linear or sectioned approach.  For the usability draft the main issue will be to make our questions more specific and use less of them in order to keep the reader's attention.  I will be back in the state earlier than I had planned so spring break will be a good opportunity to get ahead.

Project 2 Log - Week 9

This week, we worked on our individual portions of the instructions and began communicating on how we should integrate them as well as how we should prepare the common elements to the instructions. We also completed the usability test questions and have received some excellent feedback on them. A couple things we may need to look at is the number of questions in the usability test as some comments suggested that too many questions could bore someone and deter them from doing a good test of the instructions. I plan to continue to tweak them and the instructions over break so we can hit the ground running when we return to campus.
