Week 16 Project Log

This week was a busy but successful week.  After a misunderstanding, the usability
report was redone. Originally we compiled the usability tests, but this was
incorrect. To fix the usability report we compiled our results into one
document. After this, we discussed the changes that needed to be made to the instruction
set and the multimedia presentation. During this discussion we considered the
peer responses we received during the peer review process. We divided the work
up that required to finalize these documents. We needed to fix a spelling error
in the multimedia presentation and add a conclusion. The user document needed a
title page and to add final visual touches. The multimedia presentation had a spelling
error to correct and add a conclusion to the end of it.

Week 16 Log

This week was by far the busiest week of my entire college career.  I had several huge EET projects that all had to be finished.  I did get a lot of progress done on this project as well.  I finished my instruction draft and began to revise it.  We've been keeping up a constant email communication in the group to ensure that everyone is making the progress that we need.  We're a little behind but I think we should be able to meet the deadline of the project.

Project Log Week 16

This week was filled with alot of colaberation.  We met again in an AIM chat to discuss the usuability report and instructions.  It took alot of work to get every one on the same page as to what was going on with the project and how we were going to tackle it. We spent over an hour chatting on just the logistics of the remainder of the project.  There was some confusion but in the end I think we were able to assign the work to everyone.  We still have some confusion about get the instructions and presentation done although it has all started to get worked on.

Week 15 Project Log

This past week we were able to finish up the Multimedia Draft and User Documentation.  The biggest issue with revisions right now is being able to keep the correct formatting in the user documentation when converting it to a .pdf.  I have worked on it for an hour or so to try and fix it but each time the spacing is off in a couple of places.  I'm going to try and reformat the entire first page of the document to a form that will convert easier.  The peer review comments we received were helpful and we are ready to implement new revisions as soon as we get more feedback from Kevin.

Week 16 Log

This week was a really productive week for our group.  After we had split up our tasks to each person, this week saw the task of combining each on of those steps together to form one seamless project.  Which was very challenging since half of group has the ability of meeting face to face and the other have only get to communicate with emails.  This weeks main task was to create the drafts for our User Documentation and the Media presentation.  Our group has decided to combine both the use of a power poing presentation and videos of importants steps.  The creation of the videos was a challenge in making them so that the client could play them with out having to load any extra software to view them as they first were made.  But once that was conquered they looked really good and the audio really helps get through the video.  With the feedback we have gathered on the separate tasks it shouldn't be to hard to finish creating a top notch presentation that the client will love.

This week our group got a lot of work done. However, i wish i could have contributed more than what i did. I had to work every day and had class on top of that. Our group did a great job of communicating and working together to coordinate this project and i think we are going to get a very good grade on it. The group has worked very hard to get this project done and some of the members really do have a passion to help this mission to sell place. We began to put the finishing touches on the project and prepared to hand it in for a grade.

Project Log Wk 16

Our Project has been going very well over the past week. This past week we looked ahead to see what was due, and established group responsibilities over the weekend.  It was helpful to split up the group responsibilities, to make it easier for us to communicate and get the work done in a reasonable amount of time with effective use of teamwork. Over the past week Erin and Jacob worked on the multimedia presentation while Dane and myself worked on the user documentation and Brian edited both pieces of work, because he worked on the usability study previously. This worked well for us because it allowed us to accomplish drafts of each assignment, and then send it out to the entire group to be edited prior to submitting it on the course website. We have been communicating very well through email as well. We chose to communicate this way because we all have very different schedules, and this allows us to send ideas, information, documents, etc to the entire group at one time.

Week 16 Project Log

This week went pretty well. Our group made a lot of progress. We encountered a few big problems. First, our idea to have audio and video made it very difficult to upload a PowerPoint with these included onto the website. I edited the User Documentation that Jorey compiled. I was really busy throughout the week but the group got everything done effectively. The Usability Study vs Usability Test issue certainly cost some time but Tyler took care of that. Overall, I'm pretty confident with the work that was done and I think we can certainly convince Shreve and IT to install DVD Profiler.

Project Log Week 16

This week was very stressful.  While we devided up the tasks for the final deliverables up, they all had to be put back together.  Last week, I recorded the screen captures and then sent them to another group member to add audio.  This week, my job was to make a presentation with the videos with audio included.  While this seems like it would be simple, uploading a PowerPoint with linked videos to the website is near impossible.  This may be why a different technology, like Adobe Captivate may have been a better choice.  But as this is what we have planned on, we will continue with this as our final project submission.
