Resume Response

  1. What can the writer do to make the resume better tailored to the specific job being applied for?

The writer could say in the objective area which position they are applying for and have the companies name listed there also.  It makes it seem like a “one size fits” all resume, instead of a tailor made ready show off your expertise for the job.

  1. Is the layout and design pleasing to the eye? Make at least one suggestion for improving it.

The layout of the resume looks very professional and well put together.

  1. Does the resume fit comfortably within the page (as opposed to being squished in or stretched out)? What can the writer do to improve it?

The resume does not seem to be stretched out or squished together too badly.  There could be a little more space between your different items in each section.  Other than having them tabbed in an empty line between each one would make it look a little better.

  1. Is it easily readable (no confusing fonts, clearly marked sections)? What improvements can be made?

There are no confusing fonts used, it is easy to read and could be scanned over quickly.

  1. Does it use typography (including headers and bold and italics) appropriately and effectively?

The writer does use proper headings and shows the difference between the headers and the text under each header.

  1. Is the most important information located on the left side of the page and near the top whenever possible? Identify at least one part that could be better placed.

The most important information is located near the left and top.  The resume flows in the order of importance.  Since none of your previous job experiences have little to do with the type of job that you are applying for.

  1. Does the content of the resume support the objective (if there is one)? Explain.

In your objective you state that you want to obtain a position dealing with “manufacturing graphics and virtual product integration” and under your computer skills header you list numerous graphical programs that you have experience with.

8.Is the resume too short? Where can it     eaborate? Job skills? Responsibilities? Education?

Your resume is too long or too short it is the appropriate length.  With your key information given quickly and precisely

  1. Is material sequenced in order of importance and relevance?

The information is in order of importance and relevance.

  1. Do bulleted items begin with action verbs? Are list items ordered in terms of importance?

Listed items are ordered in terms of importance.

  1. Does the resume avoid generalities and focus on specific information and professional terminology?

Other than the objective section seeming a bit general in terms, the rest uses professional terminology.

  1. Does the resume pass Evaluation checklists on 228-229 of The Thompson Handbook?

The resume passes the Evaluation checklist in the Thomson Handbook.

  1. What other observations can you make about the resume?

Your resume looks very good for a draft; there are only minor items that need work on.
