Comment on your Usability Report
It sounds like using google calendars will be simple and effective for both the CCO employees and Purdue students. I think the part that you may want to focus on in your instructions is making sure the CCO is able to transfer content from their older calendars to this new setup without any problems. Sometimes it is hard to transfer information between programs and information may be lost. Other than that it sounds like you know exactly what is needed in your presentation to the CCO. I think this will be a very useful presentation for the CCO and I hope they implement it!
Re: Usability Report
I think you have a great idea here. The CCO would benefit greatly from implementing your plan. One concern that has already been mentioned is that they need to be able to transfer older calendars to the new ones. I know that it is relatively easy to sync Google calendars to your Outlook calendars, but if they do not use Outlook, that might create a problem. Also, for them to have public calendars to download, their users will also need to use Google Calendar. If there is a way around this, it might be a good idea to mention another way for the public to use the calendars.
Peer Review Comment
I like the detail you went into for the basic usage, and that you mentioned that basic computer knowledge was being assumed for the audience. It's always important to document your assumptions, and it's good you have an idea of your target audiences abilities. Looks like you have a good report set up and you have all done adequate research in familiarizing yourselves with Google Calendar.
Usability Report Comment
Your usability report seems to cover the main aspects of your test and the effectiveness of your instructions. The NROTC unit at Purdue uses Google calendar to display a schedule of events and to notify people of deadlines when they check their calendar. I am unsure if you have addressed this issue or not, but when we have more than two things going on at the same time, it is difficult to see the whole event. This could make that event stand out less. I do not know what it takes, or if it is even possible to alleviate that problem, or if you have addressed that issue or know a way around it but it may be something you want to look into if you have not already.
RE: Usability Report
Your usability study is well done and very thorough. It sounds like your proposal should be an easy sell, with how easy you found Google Calendar to use. You don't seem to have any major hurdles with implementing it, just, as others have mentioned, easing in the transition from the current system. Also, it was mentioned above that you need to sign up for the service in order to see the calendar; I don't think this is true, but you should definitely look into it and include instructions on how to make the calendar public. Overall, you seem to be on a good track.
Usability Report Comment
I think your team did a great job with your usability report in describing how it was performed and then discussing the results in key sections. Assuming that most, if not some, of the group members completing the usability tests had no prior experience with Google Calendar, I think you have some great resutls that prove CCO should have little to no difficulty fulfilling your client's needs. This is shown best in each of the main result sections where you discuss the possible problems users may occur, but all of your team's group members were able to overcome these obstacles. The only suggestion I have would be to, if you haven't already done so, include some lead in information for the trouble shooting sites to help CCO solve some of the issues you list in the conclusion section at the end of the report.
I wish in your introduction
I wish in your introduction paragraph you can explain the advantage of using Google calendar over the current CCO calendar. That way CCO stuff will be able to know why they have to change to Google calendar.
Other than that, your report was pretty well organized. Keep up the good work
