Team Dragonfly - Project Proposal

Attached is Team Dragonfly's proposal to improve the Purdue Amateur Radio Club's website by utilizing a content management system.
Re: Team Dragonfly Project Proposal
First of all, the format of your proposal looks very professional. The only thing that I would make sure that you change would be a grammatical error in the second to last sentence of the proposal. The word "editing" should just be "edit."
Besides the format, I think that everything about your project idea is outstanding. I like that your client is currently looking to update their website. This shows that your project will greatly help them. Also, even though I don't know a whole lot about Dragonfly, it sounds like a great software that will really help PARC in the long run. Lastly, I think that your work plan looks very good. I like how you divided up the work and gave everyone titles. This gives each person some area of expertise, and that is always a good idea with group work.
Dragonfly Proposal comment
I like the idea of your group to help the Purdue Amateur Radio Club website. I had never heard of the club, so it’s getting some free advertisement. One question I have is what is the current website address? I think that you adding the content management system the site will become more popular for its users. Sounds like you have the individual roles figured out and your group meetings planned. This does sound like it could involve a lot of work, but I do not know much about content management systems. I like your project and think you will do well!
Proposal Comment 2
Your group's proposal is by far the most advanced and creative. Adding pages to a website might sound easy, but the Dragonfly program is a great way to add dynamic pages to an already existing site. My only concern is that these PHP files and web pages may be out of the scope of this project. I know one group is going to just add a Google maps app to an existing website, but this is a little more advanced. Good luck on the entire project, it seems to be the most interesting and I will probably follow your progress.
Proposal comment
The proposal your group came up with looks pretty good. The formatting you came up with looks real good with the different paragraphs and titles for each paragraph. One thing you may want to consider is lining up the introductory information after the colon to make it look even more professional. The content you included in the proposal is very good also explaining your client and what you are going to be proposing to them. It looks like you are well on your way to a successful project and have the work divided up good too. I look forward to seeing the results after it is complete.
Team Dragonfly Proposal Comment
I thought your team did a great job preparing the proposal. The format was very professional, simple, and well put together. I have never heard of Dragonfly, but it does sound like a very helpful piece of software for web CMS. I think it’s a great idea to help out the PARC website, because I am sure there are many clubs around campus that would want some help towards their site. It seems like a lot of work, but I saw how your team split up the tasks and gave everyone an important title. Good job on the proposal and good luck!
Proposal Peer Review
I would have to agree with some of the previous comments that this proposal is very well written with a very professional format. Also, the fact that one of the members in your group is affiliated with the client (Purdue Amateur Radio Club) will give you a great advantage in knowing how exactly you'll be able to help them. In our group, Stephanie used to work for SI before the program was dissolved, and would like to see this project help as a cornerstone in reviving the program. While I am not familiar with the open-source CMS Dragonfly, it sounds like something that would help enhance the club's website. It appears that your group has a work plan in place, which in turn wraps the proposal up into a very powerful one.
Dragonfly
As most other comments have stated, your proposal is very
professional looking and formatted well as a memo. I have not heard of the
open-source CMS Dragonfly before, but it seems something that the Purdue
Amateur Radio Club. I think it could really help the club. From experience, the
better a club’s website, usually the more prosperous it is. A solid website can
really set apart a club and encourage people to join. It seems the club wants
user interaction on the website and Dragonfly can give that to them. Seems like
a great match to me.
Proposal Comment
This looks like a great idea and your group has presented it very professionally. It really helps that one of your team members is affiliated with the radio station which gives the team a great advantage. You do a very good job introducting everyone and talking about the topic at hand. When you talk about your client there was an acronym that I had no clue what it meant, FCC. You might want to explain what that and Ham radio is as it kind of through me off while I was trying to follow the clientele section. Your content management system section is very descriptive and gives the reader a great description of the groups intentions. Finally the presentation and operation sections gives the reader a basic understanding of how it is going to be presented and how the team roles were going to be spread out. Other than explaining an acronym, your proposal looks excellent.
Proposal Response
Overall, you present a lot of relevant content on how PARC will use Dragonfly. Those details will be retained by your reader, and should be a goal in future writing. I think you also do a really good job in describing your deliverables, which provides a good work plan for your drafting process and final drafts.
Short paragraphs contribute to a high readability. Verbs choices are very active, too. I do think you can work on sentence variety, especially in combining simple sentences into more compound or complex sentences. You could also make headings more descriptive. Good decision on font.
