Group Proposal Comment 1

Overall I like your group's proposal a lot. With the growing popularity of Google, the maps application will be very familiar to many web users. The only problem I think that you may run into is application support. When the class is over and there is a problem with a web page it is going to be hard for them to be able to solve this problem. Keep your instructions ellaborate but simple because you do not want this application to become too complicated. Good luck

I think you guys did a solid job on this proposal. Google applications are reliable and easy to use. I like the idea of your guy's cause. But, like Myles said after the class is over there could be problems or updates that need to be made. So, you will have to cover everything in your project. Other than that it looks good.

Overall, I really like your team's proposal.  I think that an organization like the Wildcat Creek Foundation would really benefit from using an application such as Google Maps on their website.  I was looking through their website and a lot of their directions right now use GPS coordinates, which wouldn't be very helpful for the average user.  Really nice job on the proposal.  One thing I would make sure to focus on (and it seems like you do) would be the importance of getting your coding exactly right.  Website design can be confusing and problematic if you get off the right path, so I would make sure to take this into account.  Additionally, if no one at the Wildcat Creek Foundation is tech savvy, troubleshooting could be kind of difficult.  I'd write this instructions as simply as possible!

I think you guys have a really good plan set in place for this project.  The Wildcat Creek Foundation is a fantastic client choice because they don't currently have a map application as simple as Google maps.  Google Maps is a well known application and would be easy for the customer to use efficiently and effectively.  Based on the people on your team, I don't think you will have too much trouble, but I am going to echo the concerns of the others who have commented here.  I think you may potentially have a difficult programming choice here, and you should be careful to keep your client in consideration when writing your instructions.  Overall, I think you have a great choice here.

Your proposal for integrating Google Maps into the website for Wildcat Creek Foundation is excellent. As many people have mentioned, it is important the solution you provide is maintainable even after you are gone. But given the information that this site provides (coordinates) the Google solution will integrate perfectly.

Google API = familiarity and ease of use

I think anything Google nowadays has become so commonplace that it is wise of organization to implement Google search, calendar, maps, and anything else Google that has gained such widespread popularity. The Google API makes it easy for end-users to incorporate Google Maps. Also the satellite view would be nice for a scenic area and they could show a lot more using Google's satellite imaging. Also, the ability to set start points and end points right on a Google map is very familiar and being able to drag the map around, zooming in and out, is very helpful. Overall, I think this is a good idea for all organizations, and this is a great proposal.

Proposal Comment #2

This is one of the best proposals I have ever read. It is very formal and very well written. Whoever did this really took their time and put forth a large amount of effort. You begin by giving a detailed description of what your group plans on doing and you show how Google maps will allow the Wildcat Creek to gain awareness throughout the area. I do not think many people use Google maps for interaction and I think showing people that you can interact that easily will really be effective. Your presentation section is also very good as it shows the software you are using and they way in which you will apply it to make your presentation effective. Your operation section does not go into very much detail but it gives the reader a basic understanding of the teams goals.

Proposal Response

Not sure if your group is trying to brown-nose a little since I'll probably canoe Wildcat Creek this summer. This should be a great benefit to the Wildcat Creek Foundation in getting people out to enjoy the water. That leads to more interest, more donations and more protection. I think you have a really good plan of action for the project.

Headings and paragraphs are very effective. Overall, writing style is engaging and clear. I do think you have a few passive verbs that you can improve. In general, try not to mix serif and sans-serif fonts. Be consistent with fonts, so use the heading font throughout or the body text font. Please email if you have any questions.
