What can the writer do

alim's picture
  1. What can the writer do to
make the resume better tailored to the specific job being applied for?

None. The writer really did a good job in tailoring his/her
skills and experience to the specific job being applied for

  1. Is the layout and design
pleasing to the eye? Make at least one suggestion for improving it.

The layout and design is pretty good. I have no problem to
read this resume

  1. Does the resume fit
comfortably within the page (as opposed to being squished in or stretched
out)? What can the writer do to improve it?

The resume fit comfortable within the page. Though the resume
is in 2 pages, I can see the writer has lots of relevant skills and experiences
that he/she should put in it. That reason is acceptable. I can see nothing the writer should do to
improve it.

  1. Is it easily readable (no
confusing fonts, clearly marked sections)? What improvements can be made?

Yes it is readable. The font is nice and sections are clearly
marked.

  1. Does it use typography
(including headers and bold and italics) appropriately and effectively?

Yes it is.

  1. Is the most important
information located on the left side of the page and near the top whenever
possible? Identify at least one part that could be better placed.

Yes the important information is located on the left side of
the page and near the top. The part that could be better placed is to put the
work experience section right after the education section because that is the
part I think will caught the employers’ attention.

  1. Does the content of the
resume support the objective (if there is one)? Explain.

Yes

  1. Is the resume too short?
Where can it elaborate? Job skills? Responsibilities? Education?

No, the resume is not too short and it is perfectly elaborated

  1. Is material sequenced in
    order of importance and relevance?

I think no. I prefer the work experience goes right under the
education section because that is the most important part to apply for this
job.

  1. Do bulleted items begin with
action verbs? Are list items ordered in terms of importance?

I don’t see any bulleted item in this resume but all the word
at each section begin with action verb.

  1. Does the resume avoid
generalities and focus on specific information and professional
    terminology?

Yes, the resume focus specific information and professional
terminology

  1. Does the resume pass
Evaluation checklists on 228-229 of The Thompson Handbook?

Yes

  1. What other observations can
    you make about the resume?

I believe the writer has done a
good job in writing the resume. The only part that need to be fixed is to put
the work experiences section right after the education section because that is
the most outstanding part in this resume.

good point

Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't even think about that, good thing we are doing these reviews.
