Here is our usability report.

Last week we worked on our Usability Report. After making the revision to our Individual Usability Studies we discussed how we were going to put them together to make the Usability Report. It was a slightly difficult process to get everyone together and motivated to work on Grand Prix Week. Overall I think we managed very nicely.

Project Three: Ind. Usability Study

This week our group really started to get thing accomplished.  Trading out AOL Instant Messenger screenames was key.  It's a lot easier to chat on there than on the website, although we still had some problems getting everyone into the chat for some reason.  Breaking up our teams roles was a big step as well.  At first I had a pretty lazy sounding role, but luckily I was in charge of writing the roles out and changed it to a much more professional sounding one.  I was completely lost on the project in general at the start of this week, but after our meeting on Tuesday I have a much better handle on it.

Here is my usability test for the usage of CMS Dragonfly.

To finish our project two we need to work on a few different intems.  One of them is getting together and going through all the details that need to be completed for the project.  I feel that with this website it is a lot more difficult than it should be to descipher what the deliverables are.  This is a major problem, because everyones grade is at stake because of it.  As far as what we need to do to finish our project thought.  Get together and do some formating and review of everything.  Also, we need to make sure that we read all of the coments that have been made.

Introduction:

After using the program Expedition we would like you fill
out this usability test.  When using
Expedition to process submittal it is imperative that speed and accuracy be
considered because on most construction projects there are 100s of submittals.  When first starting out we are hoping that
our instructions will provide a precise description of the process, so that the
first time user can process the submittal accurately.  Speed will come with practice, so don’t worry
too much about that now.  So, try out our
instructions, see what you think, and then fill this out.  Thank you and have a great day.

This week John and I worked on the instruction together.  Since he doesn't know as much about the program as I do I wrote the instruction for him first.  Along with him using my intructions I also helped him with verbal instructions.  In this way he could write his own instructions and we could use the parts he had trouble with for our Usablility test.  For the usablility test we made up the questions and formated it to a certain extent.  Overall I thought we worked very well together.
