Project Log - Week 16

I felt as though this week was the most productive so far.  We mainly created the guts of our project as our user documentation and multimedia presentation drafts were due.  I think our group did an excellent job splitting up the work as everyone helped out to get it done.  I did not work on the multimedia project but I was very pleased to see the end result.  I had a lot to do with the user documentation draft and I feel as though we have put together a good set of instructions, but after revising and looking at other groups work I feel as though I can make it much better.  I will be adding one more section to give detail on how to add a shared calendar to your own and I will also be changing the format.  I had to do it on MS Word 2003 so I did not have the capability of using templates that would make the aesthetics much better.  Overall I think we are on a good pace to turn in excellent work.

Project Log - Week 15

This week was very productive.  We all started out by finishing our individual usability test and going from there.  After reading and doing our peer reviews we emailed eachother to figure out how we were going to split up the work for the week.  After talking and giving each other our opinions we came to a conclusion on who was going to produce the work and how we were going to edit it.  This week there was also alot of individual work that was done such as reading responses and peer reviews.  Overall I think we have made good progress and we communicate very well.  Team members step up when they need to and that is what needs to be done to complete this project.

Project 3 Log - Week 14

Our project seems to be coming together quickly.  Throughout week 14 our group has been very productive.  Our main way of communication has been through e-mail.  This week Katie and I worked on the project proposal as we met through AOL's instant messenger.  It was very effective as we could talk and share opinions over the proposal.  After finishing and revising it ourselves we sent it off to the rest of our group where we asked them to revise and share their opinions.  It was very helpful to hear their feedback.  Once we fully revised our group proposal we sent it out for one last look.  After everyone agreed on the layout and content we posted it to the site.  Overall this week was very vital to keep the ball rolling as everyone participated and stayed in touch.

Project 3 Log #1

This week was very successful.  As a team, we each introduced ourselves and gave a little background information.  We then went on to each individually give out our contact information including email addresses, phone numbers, and instant messenger names.  After talking to Kevin and figuring out a time to meet and chat we began brainstorming for our ideas.  During the chat with Kevin we all recieved a better understanding of the project leading us to come up with our client.  Our chosen client was the Center for Carreer Opportunities (CCO) here at Purdue University.  Our technology is going to be Google Calendars as many of the team members have had experience with the application.  Erin stepped up and created the proposal letter and sent it out to the rest of the group for editing and opinions.  After collaborating with Kevin and recieving some advice we sent it off to one of the head people at CCO.

Final Illustrated Instructions

This is the A-Team's final draft of our illustrated instructions project. This team consisted of Dane May and Myles Basso and our instructions were to show how to setup a wireless router using a Linksys product. Attached below is our project's final instructions and final revision memo. Also below is the links for our usability test and our proposal. The A-Team feels as though this was an excellent experience and hope other students like us be successful at setting up a Linksys wireless router.

Work Plan

After reading our comments taking another look at what we need to do to finalize our drafts, Myles and I have decided to add more content and more detail.  We decided to cover a few more detailed instruction parts such as "Administration'"and "Status".  We not only added more detail and content but revised our screenshots and made them more functional to our user.  Our layout was not changed very much but only a little to get rid of some confusion for the user. After changing and adding a few different components of our Project 2, we should be all set to turn in our final drafts by Wednesday.

Project Log - Week 11

This week Myles and I accomplished a lot of work.  We first started off by meeting and discussing what we needed to do for the week.  We also talked about the amount of work we were going to be splitting up.  We shared our opinions on the usability test and came to an agreement of what questions should be on there for our final draft.  Next we proceeded to discuss and complete the draft of our instruction sets.  We worked very efficiently and helped each other when there was problems.  Myles has been an excellent team member.
