Here is the link to the multimedia presention. The files are in a folder, which is then zipped. The entire folder needs to be unzipped to ensure that the PowerPoint displays correctly. Thank you for everyone that contributed and gave feedback.

DVD Profilers
Project Log Week 16

This week was very stressful. While we devided up the tasks for the final deliverables up, they all had to be put back together. Last week, I recorded the screen captures and then sent them to another group member to add audio. This week, my job was to make a presentation with the videos with audio included. While this seems like it would be simple, uploading a PowerPoint with linked videos to the website is near impossible. This may be why a different technology, like Adobe Captivate may have been a better choice. But as this is what we have planned on, we will continue with this as our final project submission.
DVD Profilers Multimedia Presentation Draft

Attached are the files for our presentation. To be played correctly, all files need to be in the same location. We used video with audio to explain how people may benefit from this product. On the slides that have nothing on them, there are videos that are linked to the PowerPoint. Unfortunately, there is not an efficient way to join the two into one convenient file. I will try to find a solution before the final sumbission. Any feedback on the style or content is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Here is a link to a zip file containing the PowerPoint and video files. Please unzip the entire folder before opening the PowerPoint.

Week 15 Project Log

This past week, our group have been working on our final deliverables for Project 3. We devided up the duties and roles of our group members into manageable tasks. Since I had the most experience with the program, I was assigned the task of taking screen caputered videos. These videos showed demonstrations of how common functions of the DVD Profiler program are done. Once caputred, I sent these videos to Jeff and he added audio to them. The other group members worked on the acutal presentation, and the user documentations.
Final Individual Usability Study

Attached is the Individual Usability Study. Any comments are encouraged so I may incorporate improvements.
Project Log Week 14

During this week, our group focused on what we exactly want to do about our project. Our client replied to our email on Monday and asked a few more specific questions. I have been the contact person for our group since she is my supervisor as an actual job. She said that our idea sounds great, but IT does not want to install software. As I was talking to her, she further explained that it is not that they are against installing software, they just don't want to put the time into installing it. If we can prove that it is worth it to the residence hall to install the software, then it will happen. There is an alternative software that does work, but does not have all the features that make this software-based solution valuable. So we are going to make a side-by-side comparison emphasizing the features that the software-based solution benefits from. As for the proposal draft, we had nothing but positive comments stating that we are in the right direction and have put a
individual Usability Test Draft - Project 3

Attached is my usability test draft for DVD Profiler, made by Invelos Software. The usability test was written with the client (office clerks in a resident hall) in mind. Please feel free to give any comments or questions that you many have.
Project Log week 13

While at the beginning of the week I was lost, now I feel like I have a great handle on things. To start out the week, I felt completely lost. I am not sure if it was because of the product description, or the multiple avenues that it could go down. I was hoping that my other group members had some more knowledge about what was supposed to go on, but it seemed that they were in the same situation that I was in. Once we met in the chat room with Kevin, we were able to ask the questions that we needed to clarify the project objectives. During the chat, we had a massive brainstorming session. We narrowed the client down to my contact at my current part-time job. I work a couple hours a week at a residence hall front desk. At this office they have about 300 DVDs that can be borrowed by the residents of the hall. Currently, the checkout process if very unorganized and can be majorly simplified by the use of an inventory database software.
CompGE: Frazee-King Final

CompGE's project demonstrates how to create navigation bars and buttons for use on web pages. Upon completing these quick and simple tutorials, you will be able to create these graphics for web use. Below, you will find the link to the Project Proposal and a like to the Usability Test. Attached you will find the instructions, revision memo, and another copy of the Usability Test.
