admins's picture

This week we worked on completing the first drafts of our deliverables. I worked with Erin on creating the multimedia presentation. We have a 2 part presentation including a PowerPoint with an overview of the benefits Google Calendar and the Captivate screencast of a sample user working with a ficticious CCO calendar. Over the next few days we will continue to revise and improve our deliverables. Next week we will submit the final results of our work.

The project is currently on track and we are progressing through the necessary phases. I was extremely busy this past week so only had time to assist with reviewing the document, however, I plan to work on the visual presentation next week with some members of the group to begin to bring this project to an end point. Communication has remained consistent in the group as we use email to collaborate due to our diverse schedules.

Usability Study Final Version

The comment i received indicated that no major changes needed to be made to the study. I did tweak a few inconsistancies with the font as there was an issue in one part (very minor)

Please let me know if you have any comments or feedback.

This week we completed individual usability tests for Google Calendar for CCO. In addition to that our proposal was sent to the client and they accepted our offer. They sounded very excited to be working with us on this project. Final work was made on the proposal and it was submitted as a story.

Next week should be fairly busy with the completion of individual usability studies and integration into a group document.

This week we organized our team and exchanged contact information so that we can collaborate efficiently. I started working on a wiki page to allow us to document our progress and ensure that everyone knows what parts of the project they are working on. We chatted with Kevin and decided to do our project on Google Calendar for CCO which should allow them to communicate events more effectively to students at Purdue. Erin, took charge of the drafting of our proposal email to CCO and we will be meeting soon to begin laying out the proposal.

Project 2 Work Plan

This week we will be making the final revisions and corrections to our instructions. We will take into consideration the feedback we received from others using our usability test. Final checks include checking for any minor grammar and spelling mistakes and making sure the illustrations look uniform and correspond properly with the section they are a part of. Finally we will PDF the final version and it will be ready for submission.

Project 2 Log - Week 11

This week we combined our individual efforts and collaborated to bring our instructions together. We had to make some minor adjustments to our existing structure to make the two documents mesh together properly but overall the process was not too difficult since we had all the information we needed. One thing we could have done, looking back, was to agree upon a common format of numbering so that merging would be seamless, but we will keep that in mind for the future. (Hindsight is 20/20) We are in the process of performing a Usability Test for the A-Team. We received some good test results on our own project and will be taking them into consideration as we make revisions to improve our instructions.

Usability Test
An Introduction to Using Flickr

The purpose of this usability test is to determine the ease of use in utilizing the website Flickr via the attached instruction set. For each question that requires a yes or no answer, please provide feedback as the reason for your answer. The more detailed the feedback, the better we can tailor the instructions to meet the needs of the reader.
