Project Log - Week 16

This week we continued to work on our Multimedia Presentation as well as our User Documentation. We completed these two drafts as a group, with each person adding their part and getting a chance to review. We posted both the drafts this week. During the rest of the week we reviewed other group's drafts of these two documents. We will continue to work on these documents and post our final drafts next week.
Project Log - Week 15

This week we each completed our invidual usability tests. Then, group members commented on each other's usability studies in order to refine them and produce a fnal drat. We then submitted these all together as our final Usability Report. We also started working on our User Documentation Draft and Multimedia Presentation draft. We will be working on these two documents throughout the weekend. Hopefully we will have a good start on these two documents by Monday.

Project Log - Week 14

This week we finalized our client. We will be working with the professor of ENGR126 to put together a facebook group for the freshmen that will be taking the class. We worked on our proposal draft as well as each of our individual usability studies. The group will include information at the professor' request. It will allow him to add whomever he wishes to the class and remove them accordingly. It will also allow him to pass the ownership of the group to another professor should they take over the class.

Project Log - Week 13

This week we got our group member list for the first time. We had a chat with Kevin where some of my fellow group members (I was not able to make it) chatted with Kevin in an effort to come up with a Client for the project. We decided on a team name, Team Boilers. Currently, one of our members is in contact with a Homeless Outreach Center in Michigan. We are going to propose to sell some old furniture in an effort to raise money for the Center.
Another idea we had if this one falls through, is to work with the Boiler Volunteer Network to post videos on YouTube. We would see if they had any old videos, and if not work with them on putting one together at their next event. We would also cover video editing for them.
Project Log - Week 12

This week we completed our final drafts of the Illustrated Instructions project. My partner and I worked on completing the instructions. I converted them to pdf and posted them to the site.

Work Plan

I will follow up on the comments that were added by the peer review. The person who completed the usability test made many useful comments.
The first area we need to work on is to show more detail in our screenshots, zoomed images were suggested. Also captions need to be added to explain what each shot is attempting to show.
Secondly, the calendar section needs to show more features and detail. There are more options that can be elaborated on.
Third, I would like to show how to group contacts using the company category or another category, making it easy to find a group of people. I would also like to show how to create a mass mailing group.
