This is my memo for project three.  I had a good experience with my group.  However, I would not reccomend this course to any other statewide technology students.  Our classes are all at the wrong time and we are all commuter students as well.  The daily postings, reading responses, and multiple peer reviews consume more time than most of us have available to us. 

Attached is my project three checklist for weeks 12 through finals. 

This week we all worked on the user documentation drafts.  Matt and Seth did the multimedia presentation.  Josh, Kyle and I worked the the word document.  I think we did a good job editing each other and  communicating often.  Everyone is helping and  the project is going well.

Our user documentation is focused on a  user who will be creating a group.  Our user intends to use this group as a learning to for a freshman engineering class.  This means that every year there will be a new group of members joining this facebook group. In the event that the current group creator must leave the group, he/she will be able to easily pass it  on to another faculty member by inviting them to join and then making  them an officer.  The new professor, as well as teachers assistants and possibly some  class members will be able to edit content and membership of the group.  Our main focus is to assist the professor in setting up a secure and useful group where student and faculty can post news, asks questions, and in general improve the learning environment for all new freshman engineering students.

Here is my Project two checklist

there was a bit of confusion jas to what project we would be doing.  Most of the group did a usability study for MATLAB.  Then we decided to change dour project to a Facebook application for the freshman engineering class.  so we all had to redo our individual usability studies.  then Seth began working on instructions.  He got a good start on them.  Kyle added an important section at the beginning for users who had never been on facebook.  I was going to do the same but was too late.  I proofread the instructions and made some grammatical and spelling corrections.

This is a usabilty test for a Facebook application.  The Professor of the Engineering 126 class will be setting up a group per our instructions to increase the success of future engineers at Purdue.  Please comment as honestly as posssible.  All constructive criticism is welcome.

This is my individual usability test.  The initial instruction for using remotely are long, but noncampus students have no other choice that we are aware of.  Please feel free to comment openly and honestly about this usability test.

This week Matt and I met with Kevin to try and get some ideas for our project.  It was a little bit difficult as most of the group was unable to meet at this time.  We did however have some productive conversation.  We diecided that I would contact the Forgotten Man's Outreach Mission.  The mission is located on Main Street in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  They have a store front that the men work at.  They repair and sell furniture and household items.  We thought that we could help them to place and sell their items on ebay.  I contacted the mission by phone on Thursday.  They returned my call on Friday but I was in the hospital and missed the call.  As it turns out they do not have a computer and are not interested in our project.  They were also not receptive to help from a female.
