Week 16 Project Log: Posting our Drafts

In week 16 we began working on the multimedia presentation
and the instructions. This week went well because we began the week by dividing
up our tasks. Each person in the group had a set amount of the project to get
done by a certain date and we all sent each of our drafts to each other so that
we could look over and edit what other group members had put together. I think
that this method worked out really well and will help us finish our project on
time. It also helped get us all on the same page and doing the same amount of
work. It seemed as if earlier in the project the workload was unbalanced, but
this week it has worked out very well. We posted both our instructions and
multimedia drafts on Wednesday and will be working on revising these drafts for
our final project this coming Wednesday. We will continue to communicate
through email and stick to our allotted tasks and schedule.
Project Log Week 15: Creating the Usability Report

This week we submitted our usability report. We compiled our
finalized individual usability tests into one report. We each submitted our
usability test earlier in the week and after looking at them we found that we
had all asked similar questions in our tests, and had similar results. After
combining our results we ended our usability report with a conclusion of what
we need to include in our presentation. We will begin working on our
presentation draft this weekend. Communication has been a little better than in
the past because we are sending emails more frequently, but it is still an
issue in completing our project. It is impossible to get everyone together at
the same time so we will continue having to rely on sending drafts back and
forth by email to make sure we receive input from every group member. So far we
have been able to turn each of the components in on time.
Individual Usability Study

Project log week 14: Project Proposal

This week our group worked on our project proposal. We
finalized our client and then posted a draft of our proposal on the website. We
used the comments that we received on our draft to make corrections to our
proposal and also put it in story format. We also each completed a usability draft that
we will use to compile a usability report about the functions in eBay we are
using. So far we have completed everything on time, but it is getting
increasingly hard to communicate within the group. Everyone has different
schedules and not everyone is on campus so we cannot meet with each other. Most
of our communication has happened through emailing. Generally one group member
takes over a part of the project and then everyone else reviews the work they
have completed. Hopefully during the rest of the project we will find a better
way to communicate and collaborate with each other.
Mission to Sell- Individual Usability Study

Project Log for Week 13: Getting Started on Project 3

Our group began by exchanging e-mails. We discussed our
ideas for the project and came up with a consensus that we wanted to use eBay to help a company sell more of their products. We also decided on the company,
which is Trinity Mission Outlet Store. We came up with the group name Mission
to Sell. We met with Kevin in a chat and got more of an idea of exactly what we
will do to help Trinity Mission. We also wrote a letter that we will send by
email to the manager of the store. After creating the email, we had it reviewed
and then made changes. We will now send out the email and wait for a reply.
While we do this we will also start working on our proposal and each complete a
usability test.

Week 12 Project Log: Completion of Project 2

This week we submitted our final draft of the project.
Before submitting the project we made final changes using the peer reviews of
our project. We also both edited the final draft to make sure we didn’t make
any errors in the writing. We connected with each other through email multiple
times this week. In addition to making changes to our usability test and illustrated
instructions, we made changes to our cover letter so that it encompassed the
whole project. We also created a revisions memo explaining the work we did to
make changes to our project. During the project we were able to work very well
with each other and we completed a successful and useful illustrated
instructions project.
