Project log week 16: Communicating Better

This week our communication improved and I think our quality increased in our deliverables. We did a good job of making a list of everyone’s responsibilities and that has helped me be able to fit the homework into my busy schedule. My first task was to do the multimedia presentation draft. I chose to use PowerPoint and had the approval of the group before using the program. I sent out the draft the morning before it was due for any changes or editing. I then posted the draft on the website in the evening. Next week we will be working hard to finish up the deliverables.

Project Log Week 15: Mission to Complete

This week was a little slow for Mission to Sell, but we did get it in gear on Friday. We all read through each other’s individual usability tests and I made the suggestion that we use Mylez’s format and add questions from everybody’s tests. I wasn’t able to be a part of the question picking as the group decided to do it while I was at work, but I was able to look over the draft before it was turned in. In the future I hope we can continue to communicate with each other. We need to start on our multimedia presentation early next week so we all can contribute fully to the project.

Project log Week 14: Getting it Done

This week we have done a great job of working together and getting work done. We have been very good about not turning it in at the last second or procrastinating. This week has been very productive because we have been able to participate in every assignment whether it is adding material, proofreading, or making comments. I have tried to do all three in every assignment, although it is tough doing this at work since we don’t wait till later at night. I think we have a good project and we should be able to complete all the work on time.

Project Log, Week 13 : Getting Started

This week began with us getting in contact with each other and finding our common ground on the topic and strategy of the project. I sent out the initial email and we all exchanged personal information and ideas for the project. We then had our chat session Wednesday night with Kevin and we ironed out the small details and assigned work. We all contributed to the email draft by sending the document to each other and commenting on it. We are still waiting to hear back from our client and once we do we will begin on our proposal and the individual usability study.
Work Plan : Dukesters

We need to update our draft with the comments and suggestions left by another group. I need to find the definition of DCE and UI, which we used in our illustrated instructions. I asked some of the full time Engineers that work here and they didn’t know what it actually stood for. Tyler or I will need to make a brief cover note introducing the project either tomorrow or Wednesday. We also need to do some work to lengthen the instructions. I have some ideas on areas to add to that will possibly help the user. I believe this project can be a success after a little more work.
Week 11 Project Log : Keep working

The Dukesters have gotten a lot of work done this week. For wednesday me and Tyler split up the work and I did the instructions and Tyler did the usuability test. Together I think we did a great job and are looking foward to incorporating any feedback we get into the instructions. Both of our work schedules have been getting more difficult, but we have been keeping each other on track. I have been working at least 14 hour days at work and it is difficult to get much homework done this week. Simply finding time to do my assigned work and sleep has become my biggest challenge.
Project log for Week 9 : Communication

This week was a very successful week for our group. We also communicated very well over the course of the week and worked together. It also helped that neither of us had to work much overtime this week. At this time we are just starting to work on combining the two individual reports. We discussed with each other what we liked about each others reports and I believe we will be working on our combined draft paper next week. Being spring break next week I doubt we will get a lot of work done though till late in the week. This week I had to shoot more screen shots to cover a few details I had missed.
