Mission to Sell User Documentation

Attached is the User documentation for Mission to Sell.
Week 16 Project Log

This week, our group made a lot of progress on Project 3. Our first drafts of the multimedia presentation and the user documentation were both due this week. To avoid too many people working on the same thing, which tends to be counterproductive, our group split up the work so that some members worked on the first parts of the projects while others will finish those parts and submit the final drafts that are due next week. I think this was a good way to keep the group on task and allow each member to do their part for this final project.
Week 15 Project Log

In week 15, we spent the majority of the time working on our
usability studies. At the beginning of the week we made some final
adjustments and posted our individual usability studies. Then each member of our group added comments on the other members’ usability studies. This was very helpful later when we combined our individual usability studies to create a usability report. We added comments in the report about what Trinity mission might have trouble with along with ways that we could prevent those problems from occurring. Next week, we will be working primarily on our user documentation and our multimedia presentation.
Individual Usability Test

I have attached my usability study for project 3. I did not receive any comments on my draft last week so this one will look eerily similar to the last one.
Week 14 Project log

This week, we were able to really get into our third
project. On Monday, we drafted our individual usability tests. For this, we
essentially had to go through the process that we are going to attempt to teach to the people at the Trinity Mission outlet store and try to anticipate any
problems they may have when going through that same process. We also drafted our project three proposal
and had it reviewed by our peers. We
then took those comments and incorporated them into our final proposal, which
we submitted today. Next week, we will
each incorporate the comments that we receive on our usability test drafts into
our final individual usability tests.
Then we will need to collaborate with each other to build one usability
test for the entire group.
Individual Usability Test

I have attached a copy of my individual usability test draft. I went through the process of creating an Ebay account and a Pay-pal account for the purpose of creating the usability test. Any feedback you could give with regards to the usability test would be appreciated.
Week 13 project log

This week, we were assigned our groups for project three. Our group,
Mission to Sell, also created a client contact email for our project. We will be attempting to contact the manager of the Trinity Mission Outlet Store to ask if we can help them further their business by using eBay. We believe that we can help them expand their customer base from the
Lafayette area to include customers from around the world. Our plan is to create a template for them to use to post new products online for auctions and adding pictures and comments to these pages. Tomorrow we will be incorporating comments from Kevin on our initial contact email and sending it to the store manager.
EmE Work Plan

To finish our Illustrated Instructions project, Erin and I will have to make some minor adjustments to our instructions. These adjustments will be based on comments from a peer reviewer that completed our usability test. After reviewing those comments, it appears that there are not many problems with our instructions as they are, but a couple changes should probably be made. Erin and I will both also review our final draft by going through the instructions one more time as if we were not that familiar with EES. After we have completed the changes and reviewed our instructions, we will be ready to submit our project. This should not be difficult to do by Wednesday.
Project Log, week 11

This week, Erin and I posted our draft of our instructions and our usability draft. The biggest concern we have is that our instructions may be too technical to follow since we wrote them about a technical program. I do not think that a prior knowledge is absolutely necessary to follow the instructions, but we did use technical terms in an attempt to show what the program can do. We think it will be hard for people who do not know what those words mean to look past that, and it may be tough for those people to complete our instructions. Due to this fact, we are hoping for some very good feedback related to this concern so we can get a better idea of how to approach the instructions.
Project Log, week 9

I am very satisfied with the way the project is going so far. Erin and I have worked well together, despite communicating mainly online. We have managed to work relatively efficiently while working through email and mainly while at work. This week, Erin and I made a lot of progress as we drafted our instructions and created our usability test. Each of us knows EES fairly well so writing the instructions was pretty easy. The usability test was more difficult, however. One concern we had was that we may have used terminology that is of a more technical nature than we realize since we use the terms on a regular basis. Overall, we are happy with where the project is right now and feel comfortable going into a spring break where neither of us will be able to work on this project.
