Project log week 16

This week my team had a meeting to discuss about our
presentation and user documentation. We were discussing about how exactly our
user documentation and presentation supposed to be. After reading the project three
clarifications we figured out that the user documentation will be similar to
project two instructions. So we had decided that each of us will write their
part instruction and send it to Rob for compilation. On the other hand for our
presentation we decided to use PowerPoint instead of Adobe Captive.

Week 15 Project Log

This week, I have been working on my usability test. After
receiving two comments, I had made some changes on my usability test. I had
added more questions and introduce a new topic which was how to upload
pictures. I notice none of my team members had touch about this functionality so
I decided to put it in my usability test. After that, I send my document to my
team members for our group usability report.

Week 14 Project log

This week my group had our meeting as a group on AIM to
discuss about our proposal and client contact email. However due to some
unknown reasons I could not enter the AIM chat room. I didn’t know what happen
with my AIM and I hope those who read my project log will give me some advice
on how to solve this problem. My problem was, I didn’t receive the invitation
chat from my team members even they said they already did it. For your
information I am new with AIM

During that meeting, we had divided roles for each of our
team members. We had explained each of
our roles in our project proposal. We also had discussed about what we should
write in the proposal and finishing our client contact email. Some of us had
edited the proposal and the client contact before it was posted on the website.

Project Log Week 13

For project 3 I was assigned to group seven with five
members including myself. We had email each other to introduce ourselves as
well as discussing the best time for our group to discuss with Kevin about our
project. I was not able to attend the chat session which was held on Thursday
at 3.30 pm because I had an in class exam during that time.

After the meeting, my
team had updated me with the decision that they had made. We had decided to use
content management system to increase the usability of Purdue Amateur Radio
club website. They also choose Team Dragonfly as our group name. Personally, I think
that is a cool name.

I am looking forward
to work with everyone to finish this project.

Work plan

In order to finish this illustrated project, my team mate and I will have a meeting to go through all the details that need to be completed for the project. The first step that we will do is to read all the comments that have been made on our work. We will start fixing our work based on this comments and later on make some changes to meet the project requirements. We haven't start doing our project revisions memo yet, so this will definitely be the discussion topic during our meeting.

Lastly, we will do some grammatical checking to make sure that everything is in the right order.

Project log Week 11

This week my team had posted our instruction draft and
usability test. We had compiled our instruction draft into one document. I had edited my previous instruction draft by
adding screenshots, section header, and introduction while my friend Kenan had
change his instruction for Windows XP . Previously he had done his instruction
for Windows Vista. Our instruction looks very long because of the screenshot
and I am afraid our user will have difficulty to follow it.

Indeed, my concern has been answered when we received a comment
suggesting that we edit our screenshots picture and reduce the empty
space. We will fix this before
submitting our final instruction.

Toward the end of this week, we are going to test other
group instruction, answer their usability test question and respond to any
usability test replies that we may have.

Project Log Week 9

This week, my group had accomplished our initial draft for
the usability test. It has been a hectic week for us since one of our group members
had dropped this class at a very last minute and I had to cover the portion that
was left behind. From this moment I will do the account setting and home
networking instruction.

We have received couple of helpful comment
from the other group and I would like to thank them for being supportive to
what we did. We will try to fix everything that has to be fixed and come back
with a better set of instruction.

Usability Test Draft

Attached is our usability test. Our biggest concern is
whether the user is able to get the home networking works. Theoretically, the
network should work right after following all the instructions. However, in
some cases, user probably has to wait for three hours or more for the router to
configure the network.  We would like to
hear any comments regarding this matter.

 

We expect the area that will cause confusion is the Control
panel view. Since some user maybe using Category View or Classic View, they
probably will have difficulty to find the link that we wrote in the
instructions. For your information, the instruction was written for Category
view. Thus, we would like to know if users are having any difficulties to
follow the instruction.
