Week 16 Project Log

This week was a busy but successful week. After a misunderstanding, the usability
report was redone. Originally we compiled the usability tests, but this was
incorrect. To fix the usability report we compiled our results into one
document. After this, we discussed the changes that needed to be made to the instruction
set and the multimedia presentation. During this discussion we considered the
peer responses we received during the peer review process. We divided the work
up that required to finalize these documents. We needed to fix a spelling error
in the multimedia presentation and add a conclusion. The user document needed a
title page and to add final visual touches. The multimedia presentation had a spelling
error to correct and add a conclusion to the end of it.
Team Google: Project 3 Final

This blog is the cover note for Team
Google's final Instruction Document and Multimedia Presentation for the Wildcat
Creek Foundation. For this project we modified the instruction set from project 2 to personalize it for the Wildcat Creek Foundation. In addition, we created a captivate presentation that explains why the Wildcat Creek Foundation should
incorporate our instructions on using Google Maps.
Attached is our PDF of the instruction set and the link to the presentation.
If you have any troubles opening these, please contact snod.boilermaker@gmail.com.
Throughout the development process, we took the comments from our peers and our
own usability report to refine the instructions.

Project Log

This week we completed our individual usability studies. As a group we met and compliled all of our usability studies that we completed individually, and also took into consideration comments that people left us. It was great being able to compile everyones together into one document. It was amazing to see how different people thougths were on areas that may be problematic for the user. As a whole we collaborated well and came up with a great final product. Up next I will start to work on the presentation portion of our final project.

Project Log Week 14

This week Team Google accomplished a lot. Individually, I slightly edited my final usability study from project 2 to match project 3 guidelines. This works well for me since Google Maps is what I did for Project 2. We also met in person on Thursday of this week to finalize our proposal. We had not received an email response from the Wildcat Creek Foundation, so I called and received a verbal response that they would be interested in having the instructions, however may not be able to implement them right away. We also divided up the future tasks required for this project to get a head start. We plan on meeting again next Thursday.

Week 13 - Project Log

This week started off the service learning project. It started with Kevin putting us into our groups. After exchanging a few group emails we set up a chat time for Tuesday. During the chat I purposed to use Google Maps with a local organization, the Wildcat Creek Foundation. The group accepted this idea and Kevin supported this idea as well. We also used Facebook as a backup idea. We feel that the foundation could benefit from either one of these Web 2.0 technologies. We met on Thursday in person to discuss the client email draft. Our proposal email draft received very good comments. I sent the email Friday afternoon hoping for a response early next week. I think we have a solid group and should be able to produce a quality final product.

Attached is the draft of our email to Wildcat Creek Foundation informing them that we would like them to be our client.

Project Log: Week 12

This week concluded the work on our Project 2. As a whole we did not have much to change other than some visual and organization of the instructions. We also had to write the revisions memo. We took the comments from the instructor and student feedback into consideration and updated our instructions. Once finished we used these changed to compile the revisions memo. Now we need to complete the team evaluation form and student checklist for project 2. As a whole I believe we have a solid set of instructions that will hopefully be useful in the future.
