Reading Blog- Week 13 (Kristin Shrack)

On page 209 in the CDA book, it talks about pathos in writing. Before I could even get into the actual learning part of the reading, I noticed something in the introduction that stood out to me. When it says, "But whatever your upbringing or cultural background, emotion is always there. We can't choose to have it or not."
The reason that I liked this is because pathos in writing is one of the most important things, I believe, in a writing a paper. Emotion is everywhere in life. Emotion exists in conversations- it is how people relate to one another and grow relationships. With this said, it is not possible to convey ideas or persuade people to believe what we are writing if emotion does not exist.
