It gives phrases or words on how to emphasize a point, provide an example, to show similarities, to show cause and effect and so much more. I recommend looking at this page when you need a little extra help when you're stuck trying to figure out what to say. Sometimes its difficult to come up with transitions that fit well in a paper.
