Writing Purposes
The only time I write with a purpose is for school when I get an assignment. The example the book gave was the Declaration of Independence that document had a purpose of freeing their country from Britain. Purposes that are effectively addressed by writing involve passing along large amounts of information, detailed descriptions of things, people or events and making a complex arguments complex argument that has many steps and tries to answer many possible objections. I never thought when i was writing a paper it passed on large amounts of information, but now that i think about it that is the point of writing with a purpose.
