When I research I mostly use the internet. But my last year in high school we had a research project that forced us to use books from the library. Because of the project I use the library more, it gives you a different feeling when you have all the books in front of you. Students shouldn't only limit there research to the internet, the library offers some really interesting and helpful information. I find the diagram on page 154 really interesting I never really thought about someone doing research in neighborhoods or in organizations. That just give people more options to find information on a topic.
good observation
Good observation, Monica. I like to encourage students to use community resources like neighborhoods and peers; I had many groups do a number of informal interviews for their research videos last semester. I think it makes the topic more tangible -- kind of a "hey look, real people actually care about this crap!" instead of "hey... I get to write about all this boring stuff..."
